When I put my cat on a diet I split his food into 3 meals. Some in the morning, some after work, some before bed.
This may help keep the cat punting down to a minimum. :)
Has anyone else wondered how far they can throw a cat? Mine is on a diet and if he doesn't shut up I may have an answer for anyone else who was wondering. I will also verify if he lands on his feet. :p
Ahh pets...
Okay everyone go about your business. :)
Disclaimer: No cats were harmed in the making of this post.
Bug I am so glad my kids don't read this site our they would be stacking up cups right now.
Denise the strangest thing he has stolen while on the diet is Goldfish crackers.
Right now he is quietly sitting on the sofa staring at the fish, good news the fish could take the cat! That is one mean fish.

Haha!!! We used to do cat bowling when I was younger. We would stack up cups at the end of our kitchen and slide our cat like a ball, to knock over the cups. Those suckers can slide far!!
The cat really did like it...I swear.
Hmmmm... I wonder if Nyquil in warm milk works as well on cats as it does in people.... Lol.
My dear, this will make your day, I promise. :)

Talk about teaching your cats a lesson! (I have 2 myself and have thought of doing this many times).
When I was five, my friend (who was six and a boy) came over to my house and convinced me that the best thing to do with my kitten was to toss her across the little kiddie pool we had in our yard. We managed to toss her back and forth three or four times before my mom caught us and grounded me for a few days. The kitten was fine (thank goodness), but my mom was pretty mad!
Sorry, I just had to share that, it's immediately what I thought of when I read your post. :-)
LOL! That REALLY cracked me up. Needed a good laugh, thank you. :)
Funny, our cats are beggers too and one will steal anything- fruit, vegetable, carb it doesn't matter she will eat it. We use an automatic feeder that gives them a meal in the morning to keep them from tearing down our bedroom door. They will sit and stare at the feeder for about two hours before it goes off, quite funny to watch and if you go near it they all come flying.
To help with dieting if it is okay with your vet using veggies can help give them some gut fill with low calories. I used to use peas and green beans for ours to replace part of their food.
Good luck and hope your kitty is ready for swimsuit season soon!
ADDED: Our one has taken a full load of bread, bag of chops, both she took off with growling (only reason I caught her). She will take apple peels, strawberry toips, peach peels all while I am cutting fruit up. She eata bananas, loves peanut butter and the list could go on forever. lol. We normally have to put her in another room while cooking. She has swiped things out of boiling water before (veggies) and broken a few glasses trying to get a drop of milk out of them, followed by stuck on her head for a second and then crash.
My mom feeds green beans (the canned no salt variety) to her dogs because they are on diets. They love them. I don't know if cats can have them too, but you might ask your vet. It was recommended by my mom's vet. Good luck and please don't harm the cat! ;-)

HAHAHA... I am dying. LOVE the post by Bug.
my cat didn't always land on his feet. in fact often he'd slide off the couch and land on his back. i had to always laugh. and i agree, if you get the momentum going by swinging him around your head, he'll fly further. hope he calms down soon for ya.
