Check with the Upper Cape Family Network. They run playgroups throughout the cape - I believe at local libraries.
Hope that helps, H.
Hi. I'm new to the Wareham area and I was hoping if anyone knew of any playgroups in the area.

Hi A.,
I really don't know of any playgroups in the area, but I wanted to respond to you to let you know about a great day care, in case you should ever need one. I used to live in Wareham and both of my older daughters (now 11 & 8) went to the Best Friends Preschool. It was a WONDERFUL experience for them both. I enrolled them at around 3 years old....and because I didn't really NEED the childcare, they only went 2 days/week, year round, until they went into kindergarten. They both got the exposure to other children and adults that they needed to be prepared for school. They were developmentally and academically ahead of a lot of other children in their kindergarten classes, so I know it was the best decision I ever made for them. The Best Friends Preschool has a structured daily schedule, so they learn what to expect when they are there. They get a lot of interaction with other children, as well as learn to respect authoritative figures besides their parents and family. They do a lot of crafts and creative projects, as well as computer-related activities. My children could write their names and every letter of the alphabet and even some small words when they went into kindergarten. I cannot say ENOUGH about this preschool. I did a lot of research into the preschools in that area before enrolling them into that one. I always jump on the opportunity to let people know about the place when I'm given it!
As far as play groups in that area, perhaps you could call the boys & girls club for information/ideas?!
Good luck!

I go to a playgroup in Fairhaven. It really isn't that far from wareham, about 10 min. well anyway the playgroup is at the fairhaven rec center mon and wed from 10-11. It is 15 dollars for a 6 week course I think, I love it! Let me know if you have any questions
Wareham has a MOMS club. I live in Rochester and I belong to the Middleboro's MOMS club...when I joined Wareham didn't have one. You can go to http://www.momsclub.org/ for more information. I have made some AMAZING friends through the club.
