We go out every Friday and I never get dressed up anymore. :-(
Granted - we go to the same two restaurants ALL THE TIME and they are both casual places - but it would be fun to get dressed up and really knock his socks off!
So - ladies - when you get to go out with your man - do you do it up (the nines), kinda clean yourself up (nicer jeans, hairdo, etc) or just go with the flow (aka got up, put on some stretch pants/tank top, hair in pony) and hit the road?

@Christie Lee - hahahaha - my uniform is so black stretch pants, tank top and hoodie jacket - lol - though I am also very fit and I look cute - now I'm going to rethink the vibe I'm giving off! heheh thanks for the laugh this morning I needed it...
You have time for weekly date nights? My husband and I are lucky to get some time watching TV without kids running around :). I'm counting down the days until I'm done with my degree!!
I normally wear dress clothes anyways, so I'd just wear that. I have a few tops that are dressier than work, so I'd toss one of those on and go.
Mostly I wear jeans and try to do my hair and make up so I don't look a total fright! But, we usually just go to the movies when we get a night out together b/c it seems we never have time for that, so I always question whether I should look that cute when we'll just be in the dark anyway! ;)
Although tonight I'm dressing up fancy, that is if I can avert my crisis! Haha! :)
If it's a planned date night I try to do it up a bit. My favorite jeans, heels and a cute top that shows off the girls :)
If it's a bbq/get together with friends I'm usually pretty casual.
I like to dress nicely. The least dressed up I'll ever be is a fitted cotton vee-neck or sweater and some nice, dark jeans.
Last week I wore an amazing red dress, silver heels, got my hair done (curled so that the curls cascaded down my back)... :-)
You wouldn't catch me dead in stretch pants and a tank top outside of my own house. I'm very fit, but whenever I see a woman wearing such an outfit I immediately think of "People of Walmart."
most times it is what I wore to work that day - LOL.
I love going to weddings with my hubster, though. We get all dressed up, dance sometimes go out after for a couple night cap:)
Those are my favorite nights out mainly because it is the only time I can get him to dress up - LOL>
Depends on where we're going.
Fishing? Cut off jean shorts and a bikini top. No shoes.
Rock concert? Skinny jeans, Doc Martens (or as my husband calls them, my sh!t kickers), super tight tank top, pin up style hair with a big fat flower.
Mortons steak house? Pencil skirt, sky high heels, appropriate top, 'night' makeup.
To our friends house? Jeans, cute top, flip flops, little to no make up.
When we get our rare dates I usually wear my tight jeans he loves, and a fitted cute top and a nice jacket with boots, and do my hair nice.
For some reason I can never bring myself to wear stretchy pants or sweat pants outside my house. I just cant do it, I am like Cristy lol.
You should dress up a little for your husband tonight, put the usual clothes away and put on one of his favorite outfits of yours and knock him dead :)
I just think it's nice to dress up when you go out even if for own self, but for the hubby too! You can never go wrong dressing and looking nice!

Started going on weekly date nights about two months ago with hubby. I usually wear jeans, boots, etc. But one night, I came home from work and already had a skirt on so I changed out of my tights and put on my thigh highs with the belt thingy that holds them up (garter belt?) and wore my knee high boots with them. He was FLOORED when he caught a glimpse of skin when we were sitting in the car. Needless to say he was all over me that night. LOL
I'm more of the middle description you gave. I would feel weird if I dressed up more than that, since my husband doesn't "dress" either. I could probably count on one hand (well maybe both hands) the number of times he has dressed up more than business casual since we've been married. 15 years. His standard "uniform" is shorts (denim around the house, khaki or navy when are leaving the house) and a polo style shirt. He wears either sneakers (running shoes) or casual leather loafers/slip-ons. Never sloppy or tacky, never inappropriate, just not ever dressed UP either.
I feel weird wearing a cocktail dress when he's in shorts. Maybe it's just me?
And we live in the deep south, so it isn't cold enough to prompt him to wear long pants or even jeans more than a few weeks out of the year...
If I go anywhere out of my house I'm usually overdressed..it's fun and makes you feel good about yourself. I usually wear jeans with boots or heels and a cute top, scarf, and jacket. I either do my hair or wear a messy on purpose side bun. Little extra makeup, why not? I like to like what I see and am sure he does too :)

Wear a hot dress, no panties if you want to be super spicy, but it's a bit cold for that...so maybe wear tights and high boots with it.
Generally we are going out on our way home from work. 270 is an awful highway so on the nights we don't have my kids we usually make it halfway home before one of us calls with meet me here....
Once a month we go somewhere nice and for that we do dress up. Otherwise we are casual kind of people.
I don't think we've ever "dressed to the nines", we are pretty casual and go to casual places. Usually its middle of the road when we go out and if its to the movies or a picnic in the park, its even more casual with just some lip gloss on and a pony tail. =)
we never go out at night as couples. but we have lunch out now weekends. i always dress the way i feel, maybe a casual dress, fancy boots (no heels), nice coat etc. he always accuses me of 'dressing up.' then he says oh you're jus european :)
