Personal Problem

Okay for like three weeks I have had this very irratating itching going on around my clitoris. It is embarassing to talk about. I don't have health insurance that covers basic visits so I am trying not to go in if I don't have to. It is not by the opening of my vagina but more up front on the outside. I don't see anything but some minor redness and I have used vaginal itching cream which helps immediately. It happens mainly at night during the night that the itch becomes unbareable. Not so much during the day. I tried changing laundry soap for underwear thinking maybe it was a allergic reaction thing. I haven't changed anything in my daily life, do not have sex (I am single) so not sure what else it could be, anyone else know or experienced this? What would soothe it?

What can I do next?

I hope this helps, my 2 year old just had the same issue and I gave her sitz baths twice a day for a week and it was gone. Apparently it was the bubble bath or some other irritant.

It could be something you eat also. I have a lot of food and drug senitivity and it started latter in my life and am still trying to figure it all out. It could still be laundry detergent. I have to buy the Cheer gentle and free. It could be fabic softener which I can not use at all. It could be the beach. Believe me when I tell you I have been through a lot and still break out if I eat something wrong or my facial tic kick up or I will have a mygrain that will not go away. It coould be something as innocent as orange juice!
Keep a record for a few days and see if something might be the problem. This is your mission if you choose to accept it! HEE HEE I have had iching there and it is not wonderful.

Hope it gets better.

I had a similar problem at the beginning of the year for the first few months. Nothing helped, I tried OTC wipes and creams, Prescription creams for both yeast and bacterial infections, finally I had to go to a strong antibiotic cream (it was pricey) but it helped immediately. I liked the advice about planned parent hood. I also went there when I was younger and they helped out alot at a resonable cost. Good luck

I get this every once in a while. I am not sure what causes it and there is nothing there that is visible to see. I am not sure if this is a mind thing or not, but when an episode comes on I drink cranberry juice and eat a yogurt at least once a day sometimes twice. Like I said, it could be in my head but it really seems to lessen the time it happens by weeks. Mine now lasts a few days and goes away. Also use the ani-itch cream. It seems to help too. I am not sure if this helped at all but you are not the only one. I thought maybe it was a start to a yeast infection. I know that kids get yeast infections on the out side of their areas after taking antibiotic, so maybe that is why the cranberry juice and yogurt helps. Not sure! Good Luck and let me know if that helped.

Hi D.,

That has happened to me before...usually it is because of the bubble bath/bath oil or soap that I have used. It takes away the natural oils in that area. Try soaking in Epsom salt bath (1.2 cup in a tub of water.) It might also be the fragrance in the TP you use.

Hope this helps...

i am no doctor, so i can't guess what it could be. because of the financial situation, i would look into going to a planned parenthood clinic near your house. they give medical care to women on a sliding scale (which is great), and will run tests for you and give you prescriptions if needed.

regardless of what it is, that would be the best route i would take. i have been to a planned parenthood clinic when i was in college and when i was first out of school - health insurance was too expensive for me at the time. they are wonderful there, and can give you answers to your questions.

give them a try - there is one near you - they are all over the place.

good luck.

You might try taking a vinegar bath. It can help with both bacterial and yeast infection. About a cup or so of white vinegar a couple of nights in a row should help.
