"O Come,O Com Emmanuel" by Casting Crowns. It's a violin solo that moves me to tears EVERY time I hear it. It's a Christmas song, but now we are well into May and I am still listening to it! :)
Someone had recommend to me that I watch on you tube,''Perfect'' by Pink...oh my god...It has moved me to tears many times now. This is not the first song that she has sung that has done this. She is one of my favorite artists because of how real her music is.
I am not saying it has to be Pink...What are some other musicians out there that have brought you to an emotional state? Either complete sunny day elation or tears rolling down your face...I am just curious...I know we have had this topic more then once...please feel free to repeat yourself:)
Sunshine...I just youtube'd that!! so pretty!!! thank you!

Stevie Nicks makes me stop breating when I see her live. One of THE BEST songwriters EVER!
"In The Arms of An Angel" & "I Will Remember You" by Sarah McLachlan
"Hurt" - Christina Aguilera
"Mad World" - Tears For Fears, redone by many
"Wicked Game" - Chris Isaak
"Tears In Heaven" - Michael Clapton
Oh, and "Time To Say Goodbye" - Andrea Bocelli & Sarah Brightman. I am by no means a huge fan of this type of music, but the music & lyrics in this song instantly brings me to tears.
I know there are more, but those are some that just haunt me.
Martha and Closing time by Tom Waits.
Comfortably numb by Pink Floyd.
Turn the lights down low and War by Bob Marley
Nothing else matters by Matallica
Arms of Arion by Prince and Sheena Eason.
God's Will by Martina McBride. The first time I heard it I didn;t quite get it but when I really listened....
So many, but lately (I just lost another friend to a drug overdose) it has been "Shadow of The Day" by Linkin Park...check it out, I think you would like it :)
Jim Brickman and Martina McBride "Valentine"
Plain White T's "1, 2, 3, 4" (reminds me of my love for my kids especially on a difficult day)
Just have to comment on Perfect:
That video is mesmerizing. Every time it comes on I have to watch it. I agree.
To echo another response: Tears in Heaven used to bring tears to my eyes when it first came out, because of the tragic death of Eric Clapton's son.
Oh, I just thought of one! Dance with My Father by Luther Van Dross. If your father has passed away, there is no listening to that song without crying.
Oldie and not popular by any means, but Todd Rundgren's "Wailing Wall" (1971) always chokes me up. It's simple. It's the Wailing Wall, the saddest place on earth.
On the flip side of Todd, nearly anything from his "Nearly Human" cd, which is very gospel-influenced, always makes me want to hop up and sing. Good for doing the dishes. (I know, very esoteric...and dates me a bit!)
And Crowded House's "Twice As Lucky" (from "Intriguer") puts the biggest "choked-up happy tears" smile on my face.
Most of my music, though, is chosen to match the weather. I like a 'whole Gestalt thing', as my husband likes to say.
Adele's "Rolling in the deep" - just heard it last weekend and REALLY liked it a lot!
anything by Chrisette Michele! but especially If I Had My Way and Love Is You! she is just......! oh and I;m A Star!
Ummm ... I am a softie so really just about any do it to me sometimes ... but my all time is
"How Can I Help You" by Patty Loveless -- that is MY MOM to a tee, you will meet her by listening to that song.
Current songs
"House That Built Me" Miranda Lambert
"Mamma's Song" Carrie Underwood
"Perfect" Pink (it's a goodie) same as "Sober" & "Who Knew"
'This ain't nothing' by Craig Morgan
And, (and this is going to sound really stupid but CMT has a new SuperStar show and I caught it for the first time on Monday) the songs the six remaining contestants had 24 hours to write after witnessing the Army's 101rst Airborne troops return home after a year long deployment. All six contestents were so moved and their words really reflected it! I bawled like a baby!
Speaking of Pink's Perfect.....did you see The Voice on Tuesday? They had two girls battle it out with that song and I cried then too! Just something about raw emotion that speaks or answers to how I'm feeling at the moment.
"This is what it is to be held" by natalie grant - after losing babies, this song speaks to me in a huge way and gets me crying every time.
