My daughter goes nuts for the song, "1,2,3,4" by Feist on the album The Reminder. You'll recognize it from the Apple commercials if you don't already know it. It's got a cute groove and not too kidsy or sappy.
Hi there ladies,
I'm wondering if anyone has any good song ideas to put on my daughter's upcoming first birthday invite. We're looking to do a DVD montage. I'm looking for something kinda different -- not overly sentimental. (Not a fan of Celine Dion type stuff...)
Thanks!
T. :)

"Under A Shady Tree" from the cd of the same name by Laurie Berkner. All her stuff is geared for kids and is FABULOUS.
Can't say enough good stuff about her.
"With My Own Two Hands" by Ben Harper and Jack Johnson (on the Curious George soundtrack), "Baby Girl" by Will Hoge, and "My Wish" by Rascal Flatts are all absolutely adorable!
There's a children's singer named Redd Grammer - His Cd's are available on Amazon.com. There is a song called "I Think You're Wonderful" that is adorable.
Good Luck!
Also, Martina McBride has a song called "In My Daughter's Eyes" that is beautiful.
I can't remember the name, but it is from Sesame Street and is about rainbows?? It was played at the end of the movie, The Break-up?? I love the cd invite idea, how creative! Have fun!
I think I loved you before i met you--possibly savage garden??
that song was playing on the radio when i was in labor with my son so it always felt like the words were special for us.
I love the idea of doing a DVD montage. I would love to do one too, What software or program or website do you use???
We just made a video montage for Mother's Day gifts from onetruemedia.com! It turned out so cute! We used 3 songs... "I could not ask for more - Sara Evans", "Blessed - Martina McBride", and "My Wish - Rascal Flats." Good Luck! :)

Hey T.,
I made a one year dvd montage - and I make others all the time... I am very fixated on finding that perfect song for pics and videos...
"Oh very young" - by Cat Stevens (formerly known...) is an incredible song to use...
I also made one for my husband for father's day with my little girl -
"Father's Be Good to your Daughters" by John Mayer
and there's another one with Paul Simon and his daughter...
don't know the actual title - something "no father loves his daughter the way I love you..."
I'm sure you can find it on limewire.com
then, if you want to "starlight" her - something really cute to do is "she's the one" by, none other than - the boss - bruuuuuuuuuuce.
oh, wait - there's also "forever young" - by tons of different artists - my favorite, by far is Jerry Garcia.
Have a blast!!

I am not sure of specific songs but are there certain types of music your daughter responds to more so than others? Are there songs you hear and immediately think of her? What about songs that were popular on the day and year she was born? HOpe that helps. good luck with your new pregnancy
Hi T.,
For a montage, I did do some sentimental stuff only because the words fit almost perfect with the order that I did the pictures...
With arms wide open (Creed)
Miracle (Celine Dion)
I have been blessed (Martina McBride)
The Celine Dion song is slow and mushy, Creed is in between, and the Martina McBride one is pretty upbeat.
Good luck. Try not to stress out over it, like I did. People will enjoy it no matter what!

My song for my daughter has always been "I Hope You Dance" by Lee Ann Womack as sort of a theme song for my hopes and dreams for her future. It brings tears to my eyes everytime I hear it! :)
ever hear of the noggin channel? it's for pre-schoolers. my son will soon be 1 and he absolutely loves it! the "mascots" are 'moose & zee' and they actually do a birthday song/video that is very cute. maybe try doing a search for them on google or something? i know there's a youtube clip of all the songs/videos they have.
Try Colin Hay's "It's a Beautiful World".
Hi T. - What about "You Must Have Been a Beautiful Baby" by Bing Crosby or "Isn't She Lovely" by Stevie Wonder? Good luck with your project - it sounds like a wonderful idea!
"Lullaby" by the Dixie Chicks.
