We have always used Kirkland (Costco) diapers for our daughter. At night we started to put a bigger sized diaper on her as she slept longer. She has reached the largest size and has been waking up in the morning with a completely full diaper and sometimes wet PJs and sheet. So, what now? (We have not yet started potty training.)
We are having the same problem. .my son is 28 mos and I am not going to Force him into potty training yet BC he isn't ready. He wets through everything and I read they should be able to hold it overnight first. We are in a 5 in pampers overnight and those are hard to find! I haven't seen anytjong in a 6. I. Would love any recommendations! Sorry not more help, but pampers do have sz 5. Good luck

you could try using a swim diaper at night under the regular diaper, I have not personally tried it but you would think that the way the swim diapers are designed to work it would work. good luck.

We insert a maxi pad into my 29 month old's diaper at night. It's easy and works great. We use Target's regular diapers for day and night (they are cheap and I like them better than Huggies and Pampers for this size--they are really soft and stretchy so they are easy to put on and comfy for him.) Then we just add the maxi pad at night.

Pampers baby dry makes an overnight diaper. We use the green baby dry's during the day and the purple overnight baby dry's at night. I think 88 regular baby dry's come in a box for $18 and 62 per box for $18 for the night time ones. They really work! AND my daughter never gets diaper rash using them. The Huggies for some reason gave her diaper rash. Hope this helps!

We use Huggies Overnights (in the purple package) for bedtime and Kirkland for days and naps.
to help make mornings a bit less hectic, I layer my sheets by using a quilted, "multi-use" pad between sheets. You can find these at Target, Babies R Us, etc. First, put your crib/mattress pad and the sheet on, as usual. Then place a pad in the position where your daughter usually wets (the pad is as wide as a crib mattress, but not as long). Then put another sheet on top. And you can add another pad + sheet. If the sheet is wet in the morning, just peel off the wet sheet and pad. The pad keeps the other layers dry!

I'll add my vote for the Huggies overnights. We cloth diaper during the day, but my son's a heavy wetter, so when the cloth diapers weren't cutting it in the night, the Huggies worked out great. He sleeps 11-12 hours, and although the diaper's pretty heavy in the morning, he's never had a rash and only one small occurrence of leaking in many months of use (PJs a little wet, but didn't make it to the bed sheets).

This would be a great time to introduce the potty. Have her go right before bed " like mommy does" and then put the diaper on her for night time. No pressure. See if this helps with the overflowing diaper. Then when she's ready, move on to daytime potty use. Also you could try not so man fluids right before bed. Give her drinks about 1 hour prior to bedtime and let her pee on the pot. Hopefully she'll think it's fun and be eager to go full time. Just keep a low key attitude about the whole thing. Perfectly natural, let her come in the bathroom with you and seeyou use the toilet sometimes.

you can always start the potty training (have her at least try to go the second she wakes up and the right before she goes to bed). Limit the amount liquid she drinks 2 hours before she goes down. That should solve the actual bed wetting portion

Buy night time diapers, they really do work better.
they have diaper liners at Toys R Us or Babies R Us.
Or you can use a sanitary pad inside the night time diapers.

I know they cost more, but Huggies Overnights worked for us. We had the same problem with our son. If I was out of Overnights I sometimes put an always pad near the front waist band to keep his regular diaper from leaking through the night.

No experience in this as all 4 of my kids have are all so small they've never made it out of a size 3 - BUT a few comments on a couple of the comments.
#1 - Mandi: FYI, NOT true that they should be able to hold it over night to be ready to be potty trained. I've never heard that before. Day trained is totally different. My second daughter actually was day trained at 2, but wet at night until she was 6 and I finally bought a 'pee alarm'. Some kids need that because they sleep so heavy they do not get signaled to wake-up (according to my pedi... and it worked within like 2 weeks). The rest of my kids were out of night-time pull-ups about 2-3 months after day training at the latest, but they were not dry before they PT. My youngest son has been completely day trained since October (at 28 months), wakes up to pee at least once at night, but still has a wet pull-up about 75% of the time in the morning.
#2 The swim diaper idea I think is a good one (or maybe some plastic pants if you can find them on Ebay or something) - only I would use it OVER the regular diaper. I'm pretty sure swim diapers are not very absorbent so alot of that urine would just pool against their skin all night which can't be a good thing. If you put it over, the regular diaper would absorb as much as it could and then the swim one would catch the overflow maybe to prevent the sheets and jammies from getting so wet.
Another option would be to just try to get up and change her in the middle of the night while she sleeps.

Just cut back on the liquids. Stop giving her something to drink at least an hour before bedtime and make sure you put fresh diaper on when she lays down. If you really want to make sure she doesn't wet the bed put her on the potty right before bed. She will start going and you will see there is hardly anything in her diaper in the morning.

The only diapers i could find that kept my boys dry overnight are the Pampers baby dry diapers.....not even the Pampers Cruisers would work. I tried every brand, pul ups, overnight diapers....EVERYTHING!! and those were it!! Good luck!
I have also hear of parents adding a femenine pad to the diaper to add extra absorbency. Never tried it though...

You could try a larger diaper in another brand (I know Pampers has a 7). I had this problem with my boys & started using Huggies overnights & they were awesome!!! You can also look online for diapers for incontinent children (children who can't hold their urine). They make diapers in every size for children up to adults. I didn't end up purchasing any because we decided to try potty training our then 34 mo. son & it worked. 21 mo. is way too young to think potty training, so I would try the overnights, then online if they don't work!
God bless!

my 23 month old has had no issues with Overnights...there is the exceptional night were she goes #1 AND #2 overnight and then we might have slight wetness on the jammies, but that is very rare. She goes 12 hours each night with them on. They are affordable with all the coupons that are out there too!

My son is 23months. The only diaper that worked overnight are the Huggies Overnights. We use regular diapers during the day. The Pampers BabyDry did not work for us, and didn't seem to hold as much as the Huggies.

We went through the exact same thing with the same diapers. We switched to target brand during the day(they are substantially cheaper and we like the diapers better) and huggies overnights for bed time. This worked for a while but the leaking started up again and I finally found a reasonable solution. There is a filler for cloth diapers called Gbaby refills. They are flushable liners that just fit into the diaper. They are carried by Buy Buy Baby. They do make the diaper a little more bulky but the keep the sheets dry, for the most part.
Good luck!

I use the regular Huggies for my son overnight. I don't have wetness problems. I am not sure if going to a bigger diaper is going to help and its probably not hugging her correctly for absorbancy. I use 2 dollar coupons and buy the 82 pack. It comes out to be 17 or 18 dollars. I am not sure if that is significantly more than the Kirkland but at least for night it would be worth it.
