Has anyone ever gone to Dr. MacDuff out of Elmhurst? I have been seeing him & love him but want to know if anyone has any opinions on him.

I don't see him but I have a couple friends who love him. SO sorry about the loss of your babies.
Hello C.,
I am so sorry to hear about your loss.
Dr. Macduff actually delivered my son 5 years ago because he was on call that day and I loved him. My doctor is actually Dr. Page, however they want you to see all the doctors while you're pregnant because either of them can be on call when you go into labor. I still go to Elmhurst and don't have any problems with the OB doctors.
First off, I am sorry to read about your loss of your children. My heart goes out to you.
Next, regarding Dr. McDuff, I really loved him as a OB/GYN and also to provide prenatal care. He was one of four docs in a practice, so I saw him pre-natally, but different docs: Nirali Ghia and Julie Kim, delivered the babies since they happened to be on call those nights.
One thing I remember about Dr. McDuff is that as I was leaving a prenatal appointment, like in the final 2 minutes, I brought up the question of circumcision. Instead of saying something like, "You have plenty of time to discuss that with a doctor" or "I have 10 more patients to see", he actually sat back down and provided me with a balanced response, citing research and cultural issues on each side. I was actually crying, since it was a big thing for me to talk about, and he totally respected my state and supported me 110%. I would totally return to that practice, even though we are no longer in Elmhurst. !!
I don't know anything about Dr. MacDuff, but I do know Elmhurst Hospital and I would suggest if you can, go to Central DuPage. I had my 1st child at EM and didn't like the facilities, communication w/the NICU, layout of the NICU, etc... My 2nd was born at CDH, and had a much more positive experience. Plus they are associated with Children's Memorial. Just my thoughts, good luck :)
I agree with the first responder about Dr. MacDuff. He was not my primary dr. but I had him for some of my pre-natal visits. He is very kind, knowledgable and thorough. Towards the end of my pregnancy I got sick and ended up in the hospital. Dr. MacDuff was on call most of the time that I was there (his own shift, plus covering vacation of others) and he was wonderful. He was at the hospital the entire time and he told me if there was anything that I needed (even if it was to just talk) to have the nurse get him no matter what time it was. He was definitely there for his very nervous, first time patient! I would highly recommend Dr. MacDuff!
He is a great ob/gyn. I saw him most of my visits but ended up delivering with a different Dr.(which was my big problem). I delivered all three of my kids at elmhurst memorial and had a pleasant experience each time.I also liked that their parent hospital is Loyola.
I am sorry but I did not like him. I had a breast biopsy done in a summertime, a few years back and I was scared to death. He did not authorize anyone to give me the results and went on a nice pleasant vacation himself. He didn't return for quite awhile and I spent my summer wondering if I had breast cancer while he had a lovely trip. So of course he was sorry, but I didn't ever want to see him again. I didn't have breast cancer. He probably didn't remember me recently when I had uterine cancer and went to the doctor. He happened to be there to check something. The doctor I go to is also through Elmhurst. I love him.
