Does anyone have a referral for a fence company that does good work and is not too expensive? We've gotten several estimate and it's much more than we thought. Thanks!

I don't have a referral for a brand new fence because we tried to get one ourselves and everywhere was ridiculously expensive or they never even bothered returning our calls! However, if you have an old one that could possibly be repaired, I can recommend Fence RX. http://www.fence-rx.com/ They came out and are in the process of working on ours now. They had to stop due to the heavy wind yesterday, and will finish up next week. They got about half of what they need to done, and haven't even asked for a penny yet. Most contractors want at least half down. They are so nice, professional, and I really trust them. They have done an excellent job so far, and were very reasonably priced.

Call Jeff B. at ###-###-####. He is with Richard Williams & Assoc. Thats his cell, so if he doesn't answer...just leave a message and he'll get back to you. He is my ex-husband. They will come out and give you a free estimate. Hope this helps!

I don't have a fence referral for you but I just wanted to chime in and warn you to be careful of companies who give you really cheap bids. The saying "You get what you pay for" usually rings true. Obviously there are contractors out there who overcharge and I hope you find someone who can work with your budget. The reason I say this is because my husband is a general contractor and he has done numerous jobs for customers who first went with the cheapest bid to save money but ended up having to hire another contractor to come fix the work or finish work that was never done. Then you end up paying even more than the original high bids you were avoiding.

I absolutely agree with Renee.

One thing you might want to consider is to price the materials for the type of fence you are wanting (go to several places), and compare the pricing of the materials you get against what the contractors are bidding. (Because they are "business", they usually get a lower price from the suppliers.) If the contractors' pricing is more for the materials than what you are seeing, I would buy the materials and pay for their labor, or keep looking until you find a "legitimate" contractor who isn't trying to "double profit".

Hope this helps!
