I am in need of a new umbrella stroller. It needs to be easy to fold and lightweight for traveling. I would like to stay under $100. Does anyone have any suggestions?
Thanks for all of the suggestions! I went to Babies R Us and bought a Chicco brand umbrella stroller. It seemed like a nice stroller and it wasn't the cheapest or the most expensive. I think that I will be happy with my choice. There were a lot of nice stollers, but this one seemed to fit my needs. After reading all the responses, everyone seemed to be pretty happy with the stollers that they had, so I figured that I couldn't go wrong. I can't wait to try it out. I am keeping it in the box until after my son's birthday. He can have the fun of unwrapping it, and I can have the fun of using it! :) Thanks again for all the help!
The Maclaren (spelling) stroller tops tops. Easy to maneuver(great for getting through store doors single handedly), easy fold, travels well, light, rain cover, shoulder strap and I got one new for $140 online bid. If you never want to buy another umbrella stroller this is it. No, I don't work for the company. :) I am just sold.

We have the Chicco Capri stroller, got it at Babies-r-us. I think it is about $60. Not sure the weight limit. It is on the web site if you want to check it out! We got the "seventies" style and it is super cute for a girl or a boy!

Hi,
Walmart and Meijer both carry inexpensive ones that are easy to use and are cute too. You could also try the consignment shop.

We have a great umbrella stroller that is made by Jeep. We bought it at BabiesRUs but I think you can get it at Wal-Mart SuperCenter. I'm pretty sure we paid under $40 for it. We bought it for trip to Colorado and were very pleased with it!

You can get a very lightweight durable umbrella stroller at Walmart for under $10. You can generally find the same thing at K-mart or Target. There are not pockets or baskets but it is great for throwing in the van. I always had at least two of these on hand at a time with both of my children. I have a hard time with strollers that are over $100 and have honestly never spent that much. Shop around and push them in the store to see if you like them.

If you just want an easy fold stroller, Baby's R Us and other baby stores have a very inexpensive folding stroller with a cloth seat/back. I think they are only $20!

I ordered a Jeep umbrella stroller (site to store) through walmart.com and really like it. It was $30. It is stronger than the cheap, cheap ones and is a little taller so for me, I'm 5'10" it was nice. It has a mesh back so she stayed cool in the summer and had two little pockets on the side for treats, your keys, etc. This stroller also comes in girl/boy colors. Hope this helps some! :)

I just bought a new one at Sears, it was $11.99 on sale, and they also had one with a little holder in back for $19.99. I didn't want to spend a lot because you don't use it forever. They are a lot handier than the bigger ones -which I also have, it was a gift from my aunts.

Try Walmart or www.walmart.com. I was going to get my daughter a JEEP stroller (they have a pink and gray one for girls). Anways, it was only $49.95. It's a nice size, has an umbrella, parent and child drink tray and a decent size basket underneath.

Hey S., I saw a couple people already said this, but I have the jeep one and really like it. I had to "downgrade" from my big jogging stroller when I was traveling on an airplane and it was perfect. It is easy to fold up, store, has two different levels so you can recline them a little if they fall asleep...very easy to steer and doesn't feel like a "cheap" stroller. It comes with a cup holder too- a nice plus!

Hi S.~
I don't know how tall you are, but Im 5'8" and what I hated about umbrella strollers is that I was about 2 inches too tall to comfortably push it without bending a little, which made it extremely uncomfortable to use. I found one (Chicco, I think) that was a little more expensive (still under $100) but it the handles are a little taller and it is a lifesaver!!

There is a "Jeep" umbrella stroller that runs about $30, it is awesome! I love mine, and my sister got one too after seeing how great it worked. It has a detachable sun shield that works well, and two little bags that hook on the sides so you can throw your keys and phone in for walks. It folds up really small...the best part...and I got mine at Babies R Us but I know they sell it at Walmart too. Good luck!

We have a "Chicco" brand umbrella stroller. Not sure of the model number but we love it! It is the 3rd one we have had - our little one is nearly 3 and I wish I had bought this one at the beginning. We spent about $80 but well worth every penny. It's very easy to open and fold (can even do it one handed now). I did have some trouble with it when we first got it and do have to show other people how to open it when they take it but that is because it isn't like the others - it's actually easier and better once you figure it out. Good luck!

I got our at Toys 'R' Us for about 20$. It is all of the things you listed as wanting in an umbrella stroller. I think the brand is Kohlkraft. It has held up very well and we have had it a year or so. It even has a sun shade (not spectacular)and a pocket on the back (a must).

I love my Chicco (the new model). It has a basket underneath, and is so easy to collapse with one hand and open with one hand. It is $99 at babies R us. I have taken it on the plane many times and is by far the easiest to get through security and fast to collapse at the gate.

I bought a Kolcraft one that is exclusively sold at Babies-r-us. There are lots of colors to choose from and it was under $20. I traveled with my 4 month old son alone at Thanksgiving and it was so easy to use and he didn't mind sitting in it. It was very easy to fold and clip together with one hand while holding my baby in the other. Hope this helps.
