Hi, I have been divorced for over 6 years, and have never been back to court to get my child support increased. My ex definately makes more money now, and for the first time, I actually feel the 'need' for an increase. My problem is I want to make sure I have a good attorney to help me with this. I was divorced in cook county, so I will need an attorney who covers this county. Thanks for all your help!

try going through www.ilchildsupport.com
I was able to apply through there, and get my child support order through them. They go through the local states atty office, and also increased when he was delinquent and you can go for increases through them. Bonus part was it was free, and never had to consult in an attorney.

Hi D.,
I am currently involved in a court case to modify custody and child support. The county you divorced in does not matter -- the county you live in can handle the adjustment, However, I think Barb's suggestion was an excellent one, and you should check them out first before going with a private attorney. Good luck!
