A friend of mine has the same issue. Her Dr. told her it was due to her changed hormone level as a result of the surgery. He then put her on b/c just to help control her hormones. She's now wondering why she even bothered having the surgery to begin with. Hope there is a simple solution for you!

My doctor told me that excessive bleeding is caused by a drop in progesterone. I went on progesterone and no more PMS or heavy bleeding.

Well it seems I have some answers for this one others do not. I had my tubes tied in 03 after that I had very heavy painful but you on your back in bed periods. Along with it my hair started coming out, hip pain, and so much more. I got remarried and he wished to try for a child. So I started looking into how that could happen. While doing so found out at PTLS (Post Tubal Ligation Syndrome). When we have our tubes tied we mess up the hormone flow to our uterus and other areas around it. I am a very lucky one that has an OB that talked to me about it would change my body. So when I called him about what was going on and asked about a tubal reversal, he past me 2 names. I was able to get my TR surgery in 08 and it fixed the problems. We have not added another baby to our family but it is worth the surgery and money to just be me again and keep on going with my plans no mater what day of the month it is. So If your body is against you right now as bad as mine was, before signing up for anything you can not undo you may want to look into Tubal Reversal surgery. If you want to email me and I will give you a link to a sight whit the doctor I and others have used and they have a chat board made up of other ladies like me that post about how the felt after TL and then after TR.

If I ever knew how bad my periods were AFTER having my tubes tied, I would have NEVER agreed to have it done... My periods are heavier, and more painful.

I've been to 4 Gynocologists and they can't say exactly what is causing this or even relating to the surgery...

If it is causing major pain for you, like another poster said, request an ultrasound from your Dr. It might be scar tissue or something else... Don't just let them tell you it's normal.... Good luck
