I give my daughter pretzel rods or an apple. They are healthy snacks for her and hard so that she can sooth her pain.Or try giving her small chopped ice pieces, such as those the hospital gave you when you were in labor.Hope these work for you.
My daughter is 13 months old and has 7 teeth, she is getting her chompers now. She has been running fevers up to 101.8 rectally for close to 2 days off and on now. Hi A.,
I'm 27 and am a former paramedic (currently working to become a physician's assistant). My daughter (almost 3) went through something similar. If she starts getting a runny nose or acts like she's congested, then you might want to let the pediatrician see her. As cranky as she is and since the fever isn't quite 102 and it goes down with motrin then that's a good sign it's just teething. I tried motrin, orajel (be careful with this because it can cause tooth decay and cavities), and several other products. If you have a walmart nearby, go to the pharmacy section and they have all natural teething tablets. They are tiny tablets and they disolve immediately (so no choking hazards). You can give them up to 4 I believe and Ashleigh took to them immediately and they helped with the sore gums. Also...get one of those teethers you can put in the freezer. They stay cold for a while and the kids chomp on them and it helps sooth their teeth also. Hope this helps. But if you are really in doubt, talk to your daughter's pediatrician. Hope this info helps.

My Grandmother used to give us something she called a "Sugar It" She would take a piece of an old tee shirt, put a tablespoon of sugar in it and an ice cube. Then she would tie it shut with a ribbon or rubber band and wet it in the sink. Then we would spend the next hour sucking on that thing, until the ice melted and the sugar was all gone. It helps bring down the fever (the ice) and it numbs the gums.
Hope this helps,
You are in my prayers.

try going to a health food store and getting some gumomile is by herbs for kids its an oil that you rub on her gums , they will go numb instantly. it last longer than orajel. if you think its something else take her to the dr to be sure.
Try giving her a freeze pop after the meds and see if that soothes her gums. If her diet is changing with the other symptoms then it may be something else. It just sounds like teething from what you wrote. My son is 15 months and he is getting a few more teeth as well. He likes the freeze pops and the motrin works amazingly. I only use orajel for him at night but motrin throughtout the day. Hope this helps.
I use the Teething Tablets from Wal-Mart b/c they are Homepathic and I didn't feel like I was over-dosing my son. All Natural and safe... these worked best for me.
Alternate the motrin orajel w/ tylenol as directed by weight as needed. Watch for any runny nose sympoms or ear pulling as some babies get ear infections w/ teething. Also offer cold foods, yogurts, pudding, popsicles etc to help numb teeth
hope this helps

My son is also 13 months, but has 15 teeth (talk about a teething nightmare). We have also tried everything. We used the Hyland teething tablets when he was younger (he cut his first 2 teeth at 3 months) but then he was biting to much to stick our fingers in his mouth. Motrin usually works better then Tylenol. He likes to chew on the take and toss spoons when his teeth hurt. That's usually how he'll fall asleep when he's having a rough night...blanket in one hand and spoon in the other. Good luck!!!
My baby is also 13 months...he has a total of 7 teeth now. He teethed when he was younger but since his first couple he doesnt fuss about them anyone, when he did though I would give him those biter bisquits for babies...get the gerber kind that come individually packaged..the beechnut always come broken up into small pieces and my baby doesnt like them as good as the gerber. Also wet a clean rag and put in the in the fridgefor about 10 minutes and give it to her...my baby like to chw and suck on the rag sometimes.I have also used the tablets and they work well also. My doctor has always told me that teething does not cause fever..just fussyness, but babies do always seem to run a fever during that time. If you have talked to ur ped. and he/she agrees that its the teeth and not something else then just try to give her some pain releiver. Another good one of baby orajel nighttime formula, that also worked well on my baby.A paci also helps, my baby never used one unlike his older brother who was absolutely attached to his till age three, but I sometimes give him one and he crawls around the house with it in his mouth just a chewing on it.
Try Hyland's teething tablets. They are an all natural pain reliever and can be purchased at most drug stores. They worked for my son.
My son would chew on frozen waffles or fruit...It makes the gums feels better, and it's a treat!
I used Hyland's Teething Tablets for my two children. They are a homeopathic remedy you can find at Walgreens. I think I've also seen them at Wal-Mart. They dissolve instantly and work within a few seconds. My Daughter would be very fussy when teething, and I would pop a couple of these tablets under her tongue and she would stop fussing.
You can also try freezing a few clean (but NOT washed in bleach), damp washcloths in a ziploc bag and giving them to her. Take one out when her teeth are bothering her and let her chew on it for a while - she can't rip them open like the rings.
Good luck!
i agree with the frozen fruit advice, but i'd have to say frozen bananas worked best for me...messy but it worked.
i also would make mini yogurt popscicles with some of that yo-baby organic yogurt dumped into an ice tray and frozen with a rubber coated baby spoon in the middle as the handle.
as far as products go, the best thing i ever found for my kids' teething was this thing from discovery toys called 'the super yummy teether' - it's vanilla scented and has several different textures - but she will NOT be able to tear it apart. it's kind of like a kong toy but for babies instead of dogs.
ps - i know that sounded like a sales pitch...but i do not work for discovery toys and am not a distributor, etc. i just happened to have a friend back in jersey who was and i wanted to buy something at one of her hostess parties but i didn't have much money so i bought one of the cheapest things available - the teether. it was actually a happy accident because both kids loved it.
