So I've never taken a diet pill for weight loss. But, I'm a very busy person I work from 6 am to 6 pm everyday and have 4 kids (8,7,5 and 1 1/2) and a husband to tend to when I get home, I really don't have time to excersise! But I was browsing the internet and seen that this pill is one of the top 5 pills right now. Now to get to my question, I'm wondering if any of you moms have tried this pill or have heard anything about it? It advetises in all the health magazines and says its all natural. If anyone could help me out on this I would really appreciate it =) thanx

What can I do next?

Hi B.,
I wouldn't recommend taking a pill to lose weight. Mostly they don't work as I have tried many in the past. You may want to try a new program that has come from England. It's called Slimming World USA. It is an awesome program and very easy, I mean very easy program to follow and you eat real food that you buy in the grocery store. Your family can eat the same food and believe me they will like it. Go to www.slimmingworldusa.com and check it out or call Yvonne Sanders at ###-###-####. She is from England so don't be alarmed when you call her. She is awesome! Tell her K. O'Connor sent you.

P.S. I have lost over 20 pounds on the program and it is so easy to follow.
Good luck!

Hey B.,
I have always been very weary of diet pills for weight loss. Too many of them have ended up being very harmful and I know several people who, as soon as they stopped taking them, gained all the weight back plus more.

I work part time (nights and weekends) and have two young children (2 and 1). Unless I want to get up at 4:30am I am unable to get to the gym. What I started doing is just counting calories.

I knew I needed about 1200 per day to lose weight, so would try to keep my total around that number. I got a calendar and wrote down my weight and then my calorie intake throughout the day. It was difficult at first, but now it takes very little time, and over the last 6 months have lost 30lbs. It has really paid off, and I am keeping the weight off. I know how much I need to maintain my weight, and if I go a little crazy, I know how to lose the weight.

It's a slow process, but it teaches portion control, you don't have to pay for a program or special food. You don't need the gym on a daily basis either (although if you can take your family on a walk before/after dinner that would be very beneficial).

Regardless of your decision, good luck and best wishes!

I too would be leary of these type of pills. I am on a appetite suppressent that is prescription. It is the generic form of Adipex. I feel it is very safe and my doctor highly monitors me. The hardest side effects for me in the beginning were being awake some at night. When I was sick earlier this month, I was able to cut the pill in half and still take it. I lost 12 pounds my first month.

I would be extremely leary of anything like this. These kinds of pills are not thoroughly tested for safety and efficacy. Because of the loose regulations they get taken off the market after the serious problems show up. Remember ephedra and just recently hydroxy cut? Go for products that have at least clinical trials or better yet actual peer reviewed published research on the actual product.
I can recommned something safer if you are interested.
