We just recently rented Coraline which is a newer movie that is out. My 7 year old son loved it and so did I. Sound of music is always fun, Bedknobs and Broomsticks, The Neverending Story, just a few from my childhood I remember.
I need some recommendations for movies that are okay for kids ages 3 1/2(girls) and 6 (boy). We have movie night once in a while and I have the hardest time picking movies that all of us will enjoy. Do you have a good, clean, movie suggestion that you can pass along, one without stuff that makes you cringe and say, "I hope they didn't pick up on that."
A few that we like are Mary Poppins, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, Cars, Curious George, and Charlotte's Web.
TIA

Since it's impractical (and just not as much fun) to preview every movie before watching it with your children, I'd encourage you to read movie reviews at http://www.pluggedin.com/movies/.
I know you requested this a while ago, but I'm sure you haven't stopped looking so I thought I'd chime in with a few of my own. My family is always looking for some good movies for movie night as well (2 and 9 yr old.) They are mostly all older movies but here are a few that my oldest loves and some she's waiting to watch.
The Land Before Time, The Never Ending Story, Benji, Willie the Sparrow, The Buttercream gang, The Kingdom Chums: Original Top Ten, Willow, Pete's Dragon, Honey I shrunk the kids,& Fly away home.
Try Mac and Me it is older movie but my 4 and 6 yr old loved it!!!
Peter Pan, Lion King, Dumbo, Short Circuit, Jungle Book, Lady and the Tramp, Cinderella to name a few!
You may have already seen some of these, and some may be a lttle too old for your younger one (mine are now 5 and almost 9). Here it goes: Nemo, Monsters Inc, Shrek (1 & 2 are the best), Ice Age 1 & 2, Cars, Maddagascar (1 is best, 2 is good), Fly Me To The Moon, Bee Movie, Jungle Book, Stuart Little 2, Emperors New Groove, Kung Fu Panda, Antz, The Iron Giant, Beverly Hills Chihuahua, and Space Buddies.
Enjoy your movie nights!
My friend's husband took her 2 and 4 year old to cloudy with a chance of meatballs. She said both kids really liked it. There is also Toy Story double feature out and Where Wild Things Are starts on the 16th.
I think "Imagine That" "Hotel for Dogs" "Bolt" & "Race to Witch Mountain" will be good for the family.
We just watched "Meet the Robisons" last night. We all enjoyed it (my kids are 5 and 2 1/2). It is rated G.
My boys and I loved "Chestnut: Hero of Central Park." It's about a dog. Super cute and very heartwarming.
We love introducing our son to the Disney movies we watched as a kid! We like Pinocchio, beauty and the Beast, Snow White (though he didn't love the "girly" stuff in Snow White). We also love finding old cartoons we used to watch. We all just head to Blockbuster and browse around the kids/family section and see if anything pops out at us.
peter pan not the cartoon the movie. polar express,up,
We enjoy watching the original disney movies. Aladin is one of our favorites and would definently be fine for both age groups you have. We also recently rented Monsters vs aliens which was pretty cute.
