Star Wars
Jumanji
Matilda
Spy Kids
There are a couple of live action Scooby Doo movies, Harry Potter and Spykids.
Our daughter is just about 6 and really loves "real" movies. That would include:
Soul Surfer
Letters to God
Dophin Tale
She also enjoys:
Free Willy, Black Stalion, Santa Paws, and yes Wizard of Oz. We usually sit with them as we watch the movies for prime times to interject.
Enjoy.
Some good suggestions a few I thought of were
The secret garden
Ramona and Beezus
Judy Moody and the not bummer summer
Mamamia
Aquamarine
Goonies
The new Wizard of Oz prequil - forgot the name (Great and Powerful Oz) or something like that.
Parent trap (the original with haley mills)
that darn cat (original with haley mills)
pollyanna
chitty chitty bang bang
bed knobs and broom sticks
Nim's Island
CJ7 (a foreign film, very good)
I know they aren't about "people" but my kids like all of the movies about puppies (Air Buddies movies etc). They also liked Jumanji, Matilda, & Parent Trap as mentioned below. We recently watched the Neverending Story with our 5 and 8 year old daughters and they both liked it.
Hugo ( my 6 yr old Loved it)
diary of a Wimpy Kid
Free Willy
Mary Poppins
Elf
My 6 year old daughter really likes:
Enchanted
Princess Diaries 1 & 2
Elf
Princess Bride
Goonies
All the Star Wars
All the Lord of the Rings
All the Spider-Man
For some reason she LOVES Avatar (not the disney guy but the blue guys on Pandora)
Rodger's and Hamerstien's Cinderella, both the 60s version and the one with Brandie. Princess Bride, Ever After, Stuart Little. Home Alone
The Peter Pan with Robin Williams, maybe Hook?
