T.S.
Well if you are inviting him to join you, then yes.
If money is tight then just take your mom. I think it would be awkward to have your dad pay for his meal separately.
Hi my question is if I want to take my mother out to eat for her birthday, should I pay for my dads meal as well?
Thank you all for your responses, I agree with everyone.

Yep.
Unless your are taking ONLY your Mom and not him too.
I figure, when we were kids ourselves, our parents paid for our meals out all the time. We can do that for them too.
A birthday is only once a year.
I guess my question would be , "Why wouldn't you pay for your dad?" He's your dad right? He helped pay for your growing up expenses, didn't he?
If you can't afford to pay for your dad too, you probably really can't afford to pay for your mom either. Cook them a nice home cooked meal instead.
Good luck to you and yours.
If you are inviting him and if you can afford it. Otherwise take her for a girls lunch.
I would never expect our daughter to pay for me, or me and my husband if she could not afford it. That said, I have just taken my mom out for a meal, but not her husband. We just wanted son
Me mother daughter time.
Yes, maybe you can find a buy one, get one free coupon. Good luck.
Yes. Pay for both & yourself. If you can't afford to take out both of them, then maybe it's really not in your budget to take your mom out. Maybe take them out to breakfast instead, it's definitely cheaper. I guess you could just ask your mom if she wants to go shopping or something and then buy her lunch while your out.
Of course! Why would you not pay for your father? Did he not pay all your meals growing up?
