We have tried several, and I do mean several Margarita receipes. But they just don't taste right. Does anyone have any receipes I can try that taste good?

What can I do next?

I just drink the tequila (Patron silver) straight with the lick the salt bite the lemon routine when at home. Then Tecate beer for chaser. Much easier than trying to make a margarita that tastes like the ones we pay 6 bucks for while out.... and no added sugar ;)

Simple syrup (sugar melted in a little water on the stove)
Lots of fresh squeezed limes, not lime juice from a bottle
Triple Sec
Tequila of choice
Blender if you like them frozen
Rim frozen glasses with salt, if you like it

Sorry, can't give you a recipe, I never measure!

:)

Oh, ICE, duh! tehehe

Depends on how you like your margaritas. My mom makes great frozen ones, but I like mine on the rocks, no salt. I buy the margarita mix (the Jose Cuervo brand), Cuervo tequila, fill a glass with ice, and 1/2 and 1/2 it (pour the mix first, a little more than 1/2 way because of the ice)... I like 'em strong, LOL. If you want to get fancy, add a little triple sec, any brand. Nothing better than a nice cold margarita on a hot summer day with friends :)

Here's an easy one.

1 (12 fluid ounce) can frozen limeade concentrate
1 cup tequila
12 fluid ounces water
2 bottles lime beer
ice
1 lime, cut into wedges

If you like them frozen, eliminate the water, and use ice instead in the blender.

triple sec is essential. Often it's that orange flavor that's missing that balances out the lime and tequila. I have a friend that puts a can of frozen limeade along with triple sec and tequila in the blender. It's an awesome little shortcut.

We use the Jose Quervo (or however you spell it) mix. It is three parts mix, two parts tequila, and one part triple sec. One trick is making it in a shaker. The more air you get in it the better it tastes. Oh we also put a quarter lime, squeezed and then tossed in the shaker with everything else, and ice.

If you really want to make it from scratch Alton Brown has a great recipe on the food network website.

I think the key is good tequila! If you buy cheap, it's going to taste bad. Personally, I can't stand Jose Cuervo. I prefer two fingers, gold. Pricier but turns out a wonderful margarita!

Target makes a Margarita mix in their powder drink section (you know where the crystal light is). the original recipe is to put it in a 16oz bottle of water. HOWEVER... with that you can add tequila and water and you have a REALLY good SKINNY margarita. i know you didn't ask about skinny but seriously, it's that good

i add in 1 oz of orange liquor per serving. perfect.

We were turned on to Suaza Gold ($15.99 for a liter, so not over the top) a few years back and I love it. I use Margaritaville Mix and my husband uses Jose Cuervo mix. We drink them EVERY weekend, so I sort of feel like a bit of an expert ;) We don't agree on mix, but we do on the tequila. We pour half the bottle of mix into another container and then fill both bottles with water. So, we not only end up with 2 bottles of mix, but we are cutting the calories in 1/2. We add a splash of OJ to the drink and it is superb!

I use the same recipe that Robyn does. It's a sweeter recipe than some. It's stronger than it tastes so watch out!
