It's Sunday and I'm at work. And I'm bored. And I'd really love a drink, a book, and a long bath.

So you get to be treated with my silly questions.

What's your favorite cocktail...that you make at home?

What does it taste like?

And how do I make it? Please include approximate amounts so I can give it a try sometime.

I don't really have a specific cocktail. I like Disoronno mixed with pretty much any soda. I also love Malibu and cranberry. YUM!

What can I do next?

OMG, that Lime Frappe sounds amazing! Yummy! I love lime. I wonder how that would be with Malibu....

Moscow Mule

Vodka (around 2 oz)
Lime Juice ( about half a lime or more to taste)
Ginger Beer (not ginger ale!)

Lots of ice (chipped ice is best in this drink).

Super refreshing in the summer!

We like gin, esp. a nice Tanqueray 10 or some strong and dry juniper concoction...

Gin and Tonic for a hot day: simple. Tumbler, couple of ice cubes, shot of gin, wedge of lime (squeeze) and some decent tonic water. Citrusy and cool.

Martini for a pleasant evening: You'll need a shaker, a martini glass, one or two Spanish olives per glass, gin, vermouth, bitters.
Prep glasses: put in your olives and if you like your martini dirty, just a splash of the olive brine in the glass. (use a small spoon for this--we're talking a 1/4 ts.) This has a very alcohol taste at first-- biting--and is cold and slightly salty. Love it.
In the shaker: crush your ice, add to shaker, pour over ice 1 shot gin, half-shot vermouth, teeniest dash of bitters. Shake until thoroughly chilled, then pour over the olive in glass. Ta-da!

This coconut lemon concoction is my favorite at the moment.

1can (17.5 oz.) coconut water
2/3 cup fresh lemon juice
2/3 cup simple syrup
3/4 cup coconut vodka (Smirnoff or Ciroc brand, just make sure its clear, I have used another brand that was opaque and it wasn't nearly as good)

Mix in a pitcher and serve over ice. Perfect for a hot summer day.

I like Mojitos... nice and refreshing; a perfect Spring/Summer drink.

Original recipe makes 1 cocktail

10 fresh mint leaves

1/2 lime, cut into 4 wedges

2 TBS white sugar, or to taste

1 cup ice cubes

1 1/2 fluid ounces white rum

1/2 cup club soda

Directions:

Place mint leaves and 1 lime wedge into a sturdy glass. Use a muddler to crush the mint and lime to release the mint oils and lime juice. Add 2 more lime wedges and the sugar, and muddle again to release the lime juice. Do not strain the mixture. Fill the glass almost to the top with ice. Pour the rum over the ice, and fill the glass with carbonated water. Stir, taste, and add more sugar if desired. Garnish with the remaining lime wedge.

Yum... thinking I'm going to make some tonight! :)

I like my drinks fruity and frozen. I use vanilla ice cream, rum, and v8 splash tropical colada juice. I don't have specific measurements, just what I feel like that day. I make a big ol' blender full and whatever I don't drink goes back in the freezer for later.

For summer cocktails I love gin mixed with iced tea and lemonade along with muddled mint leaves.
Also margarita's made with a 6 oz can of frozen limeade concentrate, 1 bottle of beer (simple like carona) and 6 oz of tequila. Blend with lots of ice a serve with a lime wedge. The beer really smooths out the flavor of the lime. You have to try it!

I like to make my own lemon cello and have some in the freezer all summer long. It's really easy. Google the recepie. I can make it just how I like it with much less sugar.

Enjoy!

I love pomegranate margaritas made with Pama pomegranate liquor, but I'm finding I can't drink margaritas anymore (gives me heartburn)... sucks getting old, lol.

So I've resorted to vodka drinks. I discovered Pinnacle Whipped vodka (because I'm all about creamy). If you google it they have a website with literally 70 pages of drink recipes! They are mostly sweet martini style drinks but some of them sound SO good! I've made a few so far and have adapted the recipes to be "on ice" drinks rather than martini style, because I like my drinks on ice.

I like to have whipped vodka with orange juice and a little splash of half and half. Tastes like a 50/50 bar (I'm aging myself again). I also like to make one they call Pineapple Upside Down Cake made with whipped vodka, pineapple juice and cherry juice. You should check out their website, it's really fun!

I like to make what's commonly called a Colorado Bulldog or a Fuzzy Bear.

It's a shot of Kaluha, a shot of Vodka, a shot of milk, and a shot of Coke Cola.

Like a white Russian but with coke.

The French Apple Martini (no, there is no Sour Apple Pucker in it!):

2 oz St. Germain liqueur
1 1/2 oz Vodka (I prefer Tito's, but Ketel One will do in a pinch)
the juice of 1/2 lemon

Shake the St. Germain and vodka in a cocktail shaker with ice, strain into a martini glass, stir in the lemon juice. Garnish with an apple slice.

It's nice and light - St. Germain is made from elderflower, so it's a very summery drink, but not overly sweet. Very refreshing!
