A. ~ Go to the Ventura County Housing Authority. Ask them for help. I think there is a wait list but when you have children I think the list is shorter. There are many places that accept low income with assistance from the housing authority. They have a list of available places in Ventura and Oxnard. They will be able to help you and your children. Also, I would check with the Catholic Charities or a local church. Start there and see where that leads you. I think it will be helpful. Stay positive. I know it's difficult at times but you can get through this. Best of luck to you.

Don't be shy to ask for help! That is what we are here for. As moms, we are always worried about what people will think if we ask for help because we are supposed to "have it together". Well, that's just not true! We can all use help at one time or another.
I live in Camarillo and I have some friends in the housing "area". I can find out some information for you if you would like. My e-mail address is ____@____.com or you can call me at ###-###-####.
Blessings!

Hi A.,

I don't know what your price range is, but there is a new development in Oxnard (Riverpark) that has lower income housing (there are criterias, ie. can't own a home now, income must be below a certain level, etc.). I don't remember the Tract name, but I'm sure if you go to the main office they will tell you.

Good luck to you and your little ones.

I don't know of low income housing, but I know it exists. Contact the city governments of the places where you would like to live, and they can guide you. I hope that you have family in the area to love and support you. Do have faith; you will get through this. There is a lot of free money out there for schooling, and getting an education will not only help you in life, it will help you to gain confidence and meet new people who will give you insight. God bless you - I'm sure you will receive a lot of support from this website alone!
