MY DAUGHTER WILL BE ONE YEAR ON SEPT. 15! SHE WALKS VERY WELL AND IS VERY ACTIVE. UNFORTUNATELY I AM UNABLE TO BE AN SAHM AND MY HUSBAND WORKS ODD HOURS AND DAYS, SO MY DAUGHTER DOES GO TO A HOME DAYCARE. THERE ARE 3 CHILDREN THERE INCLUDING HER AND BOTH OF THE KIDS ARE 2 SOON TO BE 3. MY QUESTION IS DOES ANYONE KNOW OF A CLASS OR PLAYGROUP THAT IS IN THE EVENING OR WEEKENDS, SO MY DAUGHTER CAN PLAY WITH CHILDREN CLOSER TO HER AGE. I DO LIVE IN THE COMO AREA OF ST. PAUL AND IT WOULD BE GREAT IF SOMETHING WAS CLOSE BY, BUT WILL TRAVEL TO ANY METRO AREA.
THANKS ALOT FOR ALL THE IDEAS, THEY REALLY HELPED! I AM NOW TRYING TO GET AHOLD OF ECFE TO SIGN US UP AND AM REGISTERING US FOR SOME WED. NIGHT SWIMMING CLASSES. THANK YOU ALL AGAIN! IT'S REALLY NICE TO HAVE SOMEWHERE TO GO WHEN YOU HAVE A QUESTION.

I also work FT and was looking for a playgroup. I found the Woodbury Area Mom's ____@____.com times are usually during the day, but there are afternoon times sometimes. I am not always able to make them. I also have a daughter who will be a year old on Sept. 17. If you are interested maybe we can get the girls together to play at the park. I live in North Saint Paul.
Check with your local school district to see if they have ECFE (Early Childhood Family Education) classes. Ours has classes offered during the day and in the evening for working parents. They are a great way to be able to talk with other parents and kids and they are all in your area too so you might even make some friends. Plus, some of the kids might be the same kids that are going to go to school with your children.
Best of luck,
J.
Hi S.! I, too, wanted to comment on MusicTogether classes. My daughter was about 15 months when we started our first class (she's now 22 months old) and it's been a wonderful experience both for my daughter and for us. My husband and I go together because we find it fun and engaging to play with her and to see her sort-of come out of her shell. We're joining our third semester of classes in a few weeks and I just can't wait. You, too, will find it stimulating and wonderful development for your daughter. You say you live in St. Paul, well if you're interested, the class we attend is in Eagan - the teacher is Christine Sirard and she is extraordinary. We're taking a Saturday class because we both work full-time as well. I encourage you to check it out. She's offering a free trial class on September 16th - for which we'll probably be there as well. Here's the website - www.lpmusictogether.net

I was also going to tell you about Music Together Classes. They have some evening and weekend classes in St. Paul. There is one group that even has classes in the Como area. Check MusicTogether.com or there is another group that has evening classes just past 94 on Snelling. Go to MusicTogetherClasses.com for that group.
Also, I know that Community Ed. offers Saturday swim lessons. There is a group that meets at the Como Elem. school I think. They fill up really fast, but it might be something to watch for this winter when the next catalogue comes out or go to their website and give them a call.
I've done both with my son since he was 6 months old (now 18 months) and he has really enjoyed them. Good luck!
Try an ECFE class through your county. They have some evening stuff usually. Good luck!
Early Childhood Family Education-ECFE offers classes at night forn working parents. We have two at night in Forest Lake call your local school district to see if they have an ECFE.
I recommend ecfe too.
Ditto the ECFE Class recommendation. It will be through your local school district.
Contact the Saint Paul public schools and get a schedule for the ECFE(early childhood family education)program. These are class and parent and me classes designed to get parents and kids to interreact. The best part is if your child should ever have any kid of learning issue before they start school they have the ECSE(early childhood special education)program. My daughter participated in this because she has some speech and language delays. The ECFE program is where I met alot of my mom friends and they do have some father child classes so my husband was able to connect and make friends with other dads.
