I live in bloomington and there are no baby classes or playgroups that I know of. Does anyone know of any? Thanks!
R.,
I am in a great Mom's group called Mothers and More. We have book club, playgroups and Mommy centered meetings. If this sounds like what you might like, let me know and I can give you their info.
Take care,
K.
One thing that you could do is look for a local MOMS Club at www.momsclub.com or a MOPS group at www.mops.org they will be able to tell you if there is anything in your area. Another thing you can do is look up a local ECFE class (Early Childhood Family Education). I don't think anything new will start for a while, but you can check into it now.
Good Luck.
Hi R.-
I was just reading your post about a playgroup in Bloomington, I don't know about Bloomington but Chanhassen has great ECFE classes through the school district that I took my daughter too. Ours met once a week for an hour. So you may want to check with the school district in Bloomington to see if they have ECFE classes. You may also want to try Gymboree in Eden Prairie. They have some great activities.
Have a great day
Andria
Check with the school district for ECFE classes - Early Childhood Family Education-
Try ECFE (early childhood family education) - we love ours in Mpls, but I know there is a Bloomington/Richfield program as well.
Hi R.! My name is J. and I just moved hear from Portland Oregon. My husband and I live in Eden Prairie which is pretty close to you. I have a 3 year old daughter and one due the first of May. Although our children are not close in age I would be happy to get together sometime. Have you been to the Eden Prairie play center? I have meet a ton of moms there and it is a great place to meet for the first time. If you are interested feel free to email me back. I am also a stay at home mom. My husband is 30 and I will be turning 30 May 9th. I am meeting a lady next Wed. at the mall if you want to join. Her son is just over a year. Hope to hear from you. Good luck
J.
I was in your same situation when my now 3 year old was a baby. We also live in Bloomington too, and I went to a mommy and me type class through Early Childhood Education through Richfield/Bloomington Community Education and meet a group of 8 moms, and we still get together weekly for playgroup. We have all had our second child now, some their third. But it was a good way to meet a bunch of local moms. Also, I know there is a Bloomington Moms Clubs. There phone number is on the City of Bloomington website.
Hello. I also live in Bloomington and have a 2-year-old. Since she was about 6 months old we have participated in ECFE through the school district. They offer lots of classes and activities. What has been more beneficial for us is making contact with other parents in class. Some of our classes have put together play groups and that has been great for us. We even have some social "moms only" stuff we do. ECFE is a good place to start, it is a strong program in Bloomington. Good Luck!
Check with your local ECFE, they should have mom and baby classes. I am on an online moms group to plan get togethers - with kids, or just moms sometimes! Check it out at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/MinnesotaMomsConnection/

You are more than welcome to join my playgroup. We all met in an ECFE (Early Childhood Family Education) class. The kids range in age from 3 months to 6 months. We are hoping to get together most Fridays from about 10-12pm at local coffee shops. We all met at the Hale elementary school so that is the central point of where we will be hanging out (east and west of there). Let me know if you are interested and I can add you to our e-mail list.
Thanks!
Hi R.-
I am a West Bloomington mom of two boys (4 & 2) and I've been going to the Bloomington/Richfield Early Childhood Family Center for great baby, toddler and preschool classes. As Jack gets older there's also open play and gym times. ###-###-#### or www.bloomington.k12.mn.us/community_ed The spring quarter starts soon so you would want to register asap.
If I hear of any playgroups for young babies, I'll let you know!
Best,
J.
