"bringing up boys" by James Dobson...it's a bestseller that's been around for a long time. My sister has boys and she read it and she couldn't believe how it helped her.
I have two little boys-just turned 5 and almost 20 months. On this site I remember seeing a recommended book about moms with sons. I just can't remember the name of it. I'm looking for advice on discipline, how to handle sibling issues and just overall advice on how to best raise boys. Thank you!
Thank you for your responses!! I went to Barnes and Noble today and bought the Love and Logic book. I can't wait to read it and put it into action. I didn't get Bringing Up Boys because I'm not a big fan of James Dobson's, but will look into the other two books about raising boys! Thanks again!!

Ditto... Bringing up Boys by James Dobson! I have two boys, 8 and almost 5. I have been needing a "guide line" as well and have had many "moms" tell me about this book! I plan to get it as soon as I can!!!
Good Luck! Boys can be difficult at times! My youngest one is VERY strong willed! I've heard this book helps us Mom's see where our boy's are coming from and how to "deal" with them.
Dr Dobson has a book on Boys. The dangerous book for boys is for older boys but is very good.
Bringing up Boys is good. Gives you an insight into their little minds, which was eye-opening for me! However, Love and Logic are the BEST parenting books by far. They have a whole series depending on age. Look at the website, it's helpful. My sister has even called the help-line w/questions and said they were so willing to help her with individual questions/problems...she's got 5 kids so this is extremely useful for her. I've never called, but the books are really great!

are really insightful books on what makes boys tick and how to deal with it.
Was it Bringing Up Boys by Dobson?
I don't have boys, but I've heard it's a great book!
I haven't seen anyone mention "It's a boy". I have really enjoyed reading it, and my husband confirms the things I read out to him in amazement. Also, "The power of positive parenting" is an awesome discipline book.
