My son's 2nd birthday is in a month and I looking for a place to get his birthday cake. The problem is that my son is allergic to eggs and milk. We didn't do too much for his 1st birthday and want to do something special for his second. Anyone know of a bakery that makes good cakes without milk and eggs and is reasonably priced?

I don't know of a bakery but here is a recipe for Crazy Cake you can make yourself.

INGREDIENTS
• 3 cups all-purpose flour
• 2 cups white sugar
• 1 teaspoon salt
• 2 teaspoons baking soda
• 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
• 3/4 cup vegetable oil
• 2 tablespoons distilled white vinegar
• 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
• 2 cups cold water
DIRECTIONS
1. Sift flour, sugar, salt, soda, and cocoa together into a 9 x 13 inch ungreased cake pan. Make three wells. Pour oil into one well, vinegar into second, and vanilla into third well. Pour cold water over all, and stir well with fork.
2. Bake at 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) for 30 to 40 minutes, or until tooth pick inserted comes out clean. Frost with your favorite icing.

Try the Breadhaus bakery in Grapevine. The make a lot of baked goods for special dietary needs - dairy free, egg free, gluten free, etc.

Call and talk to them, I bet they can help.

There is a bakery in Plano called Delicious and Fit that will accommodate a milk and egg free diet. I have 3 children with multiple potentially fatal food allergies. I know how hard it is bake without eggs, but there are very good substitutes that work pretty well. Reasonably priced is hard to find for these food allergies. They also make really great cookies with the icing on top without milk, and they also make some without egg too.
I don't know about you, but for my children to walk into a bakery and ACTUALLY be able to have a cookie in the window is like a dream come true.

My 4 y.o. son is allergic to eggs and peanuts. Divvies.com will ship cookies, cupcakes, etc to you. The mom who started the company was recently on Martha Stewart Living and gave out a delicious and easy recipe for chocolate cupcakes. (it's on Martha Stewart website) We routinely make a dozen or so and freeze them so when my son is invited to birthday parties, we take our own treat. There is also a website for the Food Allergy and Anaphalaxis Network. For $30, you can become a member and they will send you bi-monthly newsletters (which includes great recipes) and email alerts. Hope this helps!!

I know Whole Foods does cakes with special dietary ingredients - not certain about a dairy free but thought you might check there. Or maybe Central MArket - good luck! And if you don't want/need anything fancy Whole Foods has cake mixes that are dairy free.

I don't know if this would work but could you use soy milk to replace the regular milk or lactaid and then egg beaters? I would call Cakes Amore. I bake cakes and they are a great resource and so friendly and helpful. You can google them, they have an internet site.

Have you considered making a Rice Krispie Treat cake? You can mold it to whatever shape you want. You could probably find some milk free icing to ice it with.
