Does anyone know of a place close to Troy, MI to go Berry picking?
It doesn't matter what kind of berries. We are doing it for the experience.
I understand that it will be a bit of a drive no matter what.

Check out this website, it lists the U-pick farms in Michigan http://michiganfarmfun.com. The only ones I know of off hand is Spicer (in Fenton) and Rowes Produce (Belleville). Also, not sure, but I think "berry" picking might be done for the season.
A close upick farm is Longs familyorchard in Commerce. I do't know what is in harvest right now, so call their hotline, ###-###-####, or longsorchard.com. Have fun!

I highly recommend Blake's Orchard in Armada. They have a ton of stuff to do and have a calendar of what's in season for picking to help you plan your trip. Visit http://www.blakefarms.com. I've been going there for years. I normally go twice a year, once in summer and once in fall, before Halloween. There's just something so special about Blake's. I went there once in middle school and never forgot about it. When I became an adult I made it a yearly tradition to go. Now I go twice a year with my family, friends, and anyone else I can find in tow! I think you'll really enjoy it with your family.
The harvest calendar is at http://www.blakefarms.com/pickyourown.php.
Good luck!
Try Westview orchards in Romeo, picking cherries right now or Blakes big apple in Armada, both have websites to check ou. Also try Millers Big Red,north of Rochester. Have fun....
