Hello moms..

I am thinking of taking the kids (ages 1 and 2) + the grandparents visitng from Florida to a cidermill type outing. I was thinking about Blakes Cider Mill or maybe Westview. Has anyone been to both places??? Any recommendations. How about Upland hills farms?? It looks like Blakes has quite a few things for kids to do.

What can I do next?

Westview is AWESOME. They have re-done it this year. There is a playground, dark light maze, pony rides, petting zoo, straw pyramid, tractor-wagon rides, horse-wagon rides, sometims a magician and these large pillow bounces. Tons and Tons of fun for all.

Hi Lisa,
I don't know where your from but we go to Klackels in Greenville. The kids have so much fun. They have apple orchards and a pumpkin farm so we do both. They also have inflatables for kids to play on, train rides, enchanted pumpkin rides, ect. I'm sure any place you go will be fun. We are going this Sunday and are going to have a blast.

Hi Lisa,

I've been to them ALL over the years, both before and after having children. Hands-down, Blakes is our very favorite. The prices are very reasonable and you can spend an ENTIRE day out there and still find things to do! Our kids (4 1/2 boy and 2 1/2 girl) LOVE it and we'll be going for our SECOND visit this season already (and we'll probably go a 3rd time too!) We just love spending the day out there with the kids - it's just so relaxing, and there's so many things to do - the Haystack the kids (and adults!) can climb on, there's one of those big pumpkin shaped "jumping" things for the kids to play in, pony rides, wagon (tractor) rides, train rides, pumpkin patch, pick your own apples, raspberries, the petting farm, the little buildings you can walk through with signing puppets, the corn field trail plus the whole STORE where you can shop for all kinds of yummy treats!! They have an ad/coupon in "Your Hometown Shopper" paper, if you get it (its delivered to us in Shelby Twp., for free). There's various coupons for money off donuts, cider, apples, etc. I'm sure they have coupons printed in other papers too (I'm almost certain there's one in the blue "Valupak" coupons that come all the time too) Anyway, that's just my 2-cents worth. I wouldn't MISS taking my kids to Blake's every year, at least once in the fall. Good luck, and have a BLAST! I'm sure you're have fun, no matter where you go - its just great spending time with your family.

We went to Miller's Big Red in Romeo on the weekend.. the petting farm was fun and my son (1 1/2) enjoyed helping to pick the apples. Of course he enjoyed his first doughnut too.

We just took our 2 year old to Upland Hills Farm.
This was our second year.
Our daughter likes it.
They have lots of animals for them to pet and see. They have pony rides, magic show (which we haven't seen) and they have a farm showing where they sheer a sheep and all that.
They have a nice hayride thru the woods and then to the pumpkin patch. We didn't do that this year because our daughter didn't want anything to do with the tractor.
But she did enjoy the cider and doughnuts.
I think it was $8 each, kids under 2 are free. But if you go to the website they have a coupon for 10% off your entire amount.

Not sure where your at, but Wiards is GREAT. There is sooo much for the kids to do, that there is no way you'd get it all in, in one day!!

Not sure where you are located, but Gull Meadow Farms in Richland, MI is really cute. They have huge apple orchards where you can go pick. They have a "pumpkin lane" for kids with all sorts of activities and a little train ride. They have a corn maze and wagon rides. There is a fairly large store there also with fresh cider and fresh baked donuts, jams, jellies and all sorts of crafts and such. Lots of fun. We go every fall to pick apples and eat donuts!!!

We are going to Blakes on Saturday. It's our favorite place to go in the Fall. It's only $8.50 per person and I think children under the age or 3 are free. Personally I think they have much more to do than Westview (went there on a field trip today). And Westview charges $11 per person and you don't go out to a pumpkin patch to pick your pumpkin, just ride out to the corn maze. Go to Blakes web-site, it lists all of the stuff I couldn't recommend it more!!
Like the other poster said, we don't know where your coming from, but since you mentioned two that are in my area, I'm figuring your in Macomb or Oakland County.
Good Luck and Have Fun!!
Happy Fall!!
