We do Seavers Corn maze every year and my kids just love it. They have a corn maze that is made for the little ones to run through (you can see them) and a corn "pool", petting zoo, pony rides and lots of other stuff.
I live in Minneapolis and we are looking for a pumpkin patch or festival to bring our daughter to. Does anyone have any ideas? We would like one that had animals as well- but the one I know of is 2.5 hours away. Please let me know! Thanks
Thanks everyone for the wonderful advice! We ended up just going to the farmers market and picking out pumpkins and hit a park when the leaves had just changed to take some wonderful fall pictures!

I have heard great things about Apple jack orchards north west fo the cities. They don't use chemicals on their fruit apparently which is a bonus and I guess they have a wide variety of apples as well. I was hoping to make it out there this year but haven't yet. go to applejackorchards.com for info

Sponsel's Apple Orchard in Jordan is fun. I was just there with my 4 year old for a preschool field trip. Right off of 169.
Pine Tree Apple Orchard in White Bear Lake is a great place for you to check out. Apples, pumpkins, apple tasting, tractor rides and I believe (may be wrong), that they have pony rides as well.
twincitiesmom.com has a great listing...see link right on their home page.
check out www.minnesotagrown.com, this will give you all the fun stuff to do in the fall. Orchards, pumpkins and everything else, even where the farmers markets are.
We went to Emma Krumbees in Jordan MN only about an hour away...they have a play zone for a couple bucks and includes tons of fun things to do for the kids (scarecrows, petting zoo, a camel ride, pony ride, etc. They also have apples to pick and pumpkins. But check out the MN grown directory, you can search by county, city, etc. you wont be dissapointed.
Rowe's Berry Hill Farm in anoka is an excellent place. The cost is $5.25/person - under 2 is free. That price includes a wagon ride, a trip through the corn maze, and looking at a few farm animals. You can also buy pumpkins for 35 cents a pound. Their website is www.berryhillfarm.com
I took my 14 1/2 month old son and he had a great time. I plan to take him back in a couple of weeks.
There are pumpkn patches/orchards in the suburbs of the Twin Cities. Lakeville, Afton and then also between here and Stillwater just north of Hwy 36. You can find them with a Google search or by looking in the phonebook. If you need more help I can get the actual numbers and locations for you.

We brought our 20 mo old son to Minnetonka Orchards last Sunday and he had a blast. They have some animals, hayride, haystack to play on, wooden train etc. Just Google Minnetonka Orchards and you can find their website. They are 12 miles west of Ridgedale. Easy to find. We live in SW Mpls and it took about 30 or so minutes to get there.
Counrty Sun Farm in Stillwater is really fun- they have a big "haunted" house, extra large dollhouses and lots of little animals running around. It's right off of highway 36 as you come into Stillwater. Also, it is about a half mile or less from Aamodts (s/p?) Apple Orchard so you can make it a day and go there too, its fun to bring kids there as well.
Good luck!
I actually just went to a pumpkin patch this weekend off of Hwy 36. I live in Fridley and it took about 1/2 hour. It is all free except the hayride and corn maze...that was $3.50. But they have a ton of picture taking areas and a huge wagin filled with pumpkins. A fenced petting zoo...animals are fenced not the people. You can buy corn to feed animals for 25 cents. It was a lot of fun. To get there take 35w to Hwy 36 east follow this until you see it on the right hand side. It is right before Stillwater, MN. If you plan to make a day of it, after the pumpkin patch you can head over to Aamodt's apple orchard which is just a block or two down on the left. Aamod't is on Manning. So you would take Hwy 36 to Manning then take a left and the orchard is about a 1/2 mile down on the left. It is also a wonderful place. The have a small hay bale maze and a huge straw hill for the kids to play on. Aamodt's has a website if you want more information. Hope this was helpful.
