Looking for a Phone for My Grandma

My grandmother lives in SD and me in NY. It is extremely hard to have a conversation with her by phone because she does not hear well over the phone. I was wondering if anybody has any experience with the phones geared toward the elderly and hearing impaired. I would love to send her one as a gift as she has many relatives that live far away. I can't spend a ton of money, but also need something that works. Anybody have any suggestions?

Hi M.,

I went on line requesting amplified phones for the elderly. There was a site called www.101phones.com and had a huge selection. price points varied $40 and up. Hope this helps. A. B.

Thank you for posting this question! We are in the same situation with our grandparents and are looking for options-hope to find something that works. It's very frustrating to be far away and not be able to check-in regularly!

In Texas the state provides phones for the hard of hearing many times at no cost. I know New Mexico has a simular plan. These phones will print out the message so those who have trouble hearing can understand the calling party. You might want to check with SD to see if they have this same service.
