We are looking for a reputable company that can do some renovations on our house. We want to add a media room above our 2 car garage, and also convert our single garage to a craft room. We have used a renovation company before to redo our kitchen and floors - and I'm not particularly fond of them! Does anybody have any recommendations for a quality, trustworthy company that can do this kind of thing (in a timely manner of course)! We live in Plano on the Frisco border. Love our location and don't want to have to sell to get the house we are looking for. My daughter loves her school which is another reason why we don't want to sell our house.

We had Jerry Carter Homes ###-###-####) build our media room over the garage. The staircase leading to that area looks like the house was originally built that way. He had an architect to look at our house to make sure the addition was possible and would look natural from the outside. He's nice, trustworthy and does good work. We've had him back to our house 2 other times to redo bathrooms and other small jobs.
I don't have someone to recommend, but someone to stay away from. We added on to our home starting last March and it is still not finished! We used Superior Remodeling, owner, Duane Cook. Stay away from him. He appeared to be very knowledgeable and was less expensive than most of our bids, but absolutely not worth the cost! Just thought I'd warn you so you didn't get taken in by this man.

We were able to buy some of our own supplies and save money. So far we have been on budget, he has come up with some good ideas and they clean up every day. NO surprises yet!! My name is L. Green.
I highly recommend Renovations Plus...Lou Feher is the owner/contractor. He does excellent, excellent work. He redid my friends kitchen which could not be in a magazine. He helped us when we had a plumbing flood and had to redo our walls and wood floors.
He is expensive, but he is the one who is doing the work and supervising others when he needs help. Very reliable and extremely knowledgeable.

You should check with Bry-Jo Remodeling. They have done some really great work for friends of mine, and clients....who could not be happier with their work. None of these guys will be the cheapest contractor out there, however, with a home renovation, cheap is not what you are looking for. A good rule of thumb is to have 3 to 4 contractors bid the job, and toss out the high and low bids and pick the one in the middle.
