Looking for a Good Deal on a Full-sized Brand Mattress

I have a beautiful bed set on the way for my four year old daughter and I am in need of a good priced brand mattress that doesn't cost in the $1,000's. I like Simmons Beautyrest at Mattress Firms Superstore, but it's $1200 or the next step down is $917. A friend of mine has Sealy for her girls, but what's a good price? My husband didn't think a good mattress would cost that much. His idea is to get something for now and trade up later. My idea is to get a great, comfortable mattress now so we won't have to think about it for years to come. His concern is cost as we have bigger bills to deal with currently and he doesn't want to finance the mattress.

What can I do next?

Sam's Wholesale and Cosco has really nice namebrand matresses. Big Lots
also has namebrand matresses. Theses places have awesome prices.

The best matress we have is from Original Matress Factory.
Their full size won't be in the thousands and it will be a GOOD set.

I spent a $1000 on a mattress and then we hated it and finally gave it away. So be careful. We got a pillow top that seemed great in the store but when you actually slept on it felt like you were sleeping on a pile of unfolded laundry.
Our next mattress we really shopped around and ended up with a firm one from this location in Beaumont. http://www.texasbedco.com/ Not sure if they have them near you, but we got a good deal. Can't remember the exact price but it was way less than $1000.

I bought a knockoff Tempurpedic at The Dump for less than $1,000 and it was a king size. They've got just about ANY kind of mattress you want and fairly inexpensive.

Sam's carry Sealy in a variety of styles for less than $700.

My almost 3 year old DD has a Sealy Bekcenham Plush Mattress and Bunky Board (the box spring made her bed way too high) from Gallery Furniture. This is an option for you since you are in Magnolia. The mattress was about $400 and the bunky board $100. I have slept on it with her when she was sick and it was very comfortable. A mattress life is around 8 years so there's no reason to spend more when you will need to replace it again when she's 12. Here's a link to the one we have - they market it as a kid mattress.

I think you can get a great mattress for about $600.

I bought the mattress firm brand for my 4 year old. I ended up buying the same mattress for our vacation home for our bed.

Check out www.usleep.com Their prices are good and they will deliver, set up, and haul away any old one for free. Worth a look! That is where we bought 2 sets in November. Very pleased so far!!

I loathe innerspring mattresses. I highly recommend a Tempur-Pedic, or similar memory foam mattress in a less expensive brand. A less costly alternative is to buy a regular mattress (not expensive) and then buy a 3-4 inch memory foam mattress topper to put on top of it. It will make a world of difference in the quality of sleep for all ages. EBay and O.co sell many cost friendly varieties. Do a bit of research on them first to see what density and rating would be best. Also, the proper pillows will help, too. My Pillow is one brand to try (high cost, but lasts 10 years).

We got a really great, Sealy Posturpedic mattress set at Costco about 2 years ago for around $300 or $400 dollars. I've laid down on it many times and find it very comfortable. We also got it for our daughter when she was 4. If they don't have any in the store, they also sell online.

Does Sam or Costco sell full size? I know they have twin and queen. I'd check there before looking elsewhere.
