My daughter wears Pampers night time diapers to bed. She'll be 2 next month. The last few weeks she has been wet in the morning. She is changed right before she goes to bed. I've never really liked Huggies. Anyone have any suggestions as to other brands that don't seem to leak? Thank you in advance.

What can I do next?

I would suggest the size she is wearing is the issue , I used to get this problem with my daughter overnight and I moved her up a size (even though she was well within the weight range of the smaller size) and the leaks stopped.

I never liked huggies but I did use like their night time diapers I never had a leaky one. I always bought them a size larger then the pampers diaper size my son was wearing. If you like the pampers ones maybe try going up a size and see if it helps or you could add a pad to the inside of them or a diaper doubler.

Ah, the night time leaky diaper...hehe.. Yes, we too, went through this last year, my daughter is almost 3 now. I wasn't crazy about Huggies either and she wore Pampers too. But, at night, I found that the Huggies Night-Time Pull-Up (called Overnights) worked the best for us. I think it's the fit, since it's like underwear there is better coverage for sleeping, it also seemed to fit more comfortably, and it definitely kept her dry. You can still fasten the sides on and off like a regular diaper if you are using diaper cream etc... That's what I did, I kept the same night time diaper routine, but with the pull-up. It worked great, NO leaks!! And my daughter liked the "big girl" diaper/pull-up ;)
Good luck!

Hi. I think every brand can leak, in my experience, from name brand to generic. I think the traditional way to solve this is her regular size diaper one her, and layer over that with one size bigger. If she's at the top of the size range, not sure what to say, except perhaps add an extra wash cloth or somthing inside?

I used Luvs with both of my children- less expensive and no leakers! We tried Pampers and Huggies both when we came home from the hospital and I didn't really like either one. A friend of mine told me to try Luvs and that's what we used up until we got potty trained. Oh, and another good thing about Luvs, they are not as bulky as other brands.

My daughter is almost 2.5 and we have had issues since around the time she turned 2 also. She actually peed through her pampers overnights (extra protection); they didn't just leak. I switched to the Huggies overnights and they seemed to work better. I also went up a size (first in the pampers, then the huggies). We could never use Huggies with my daughter when she was younger because they gave her diaper rashes. I actually use a brand called Nature Babycare for my non-sleeping diapers, which are more natural and don't necessarily handle my daughter's leaking so well. But I wanted to mention that even though we switched to the huggies, we decided to start changing her diaper again before we went to bed (around 11/12). This has definitely helped to prevent that unfortunate morning wet bed. My daughter was in her crib when we started this and we could take her out and change her without her really noticing. Now that she is in her toddler bed, we can change it without her even noticing at all.

If cloth diapers could work for you we have had great luck at night with your basic (&cheap) prefolds,1 hemp liner & a Thirties Cover. Never had a leak, once! And the BEST part no yucky smell in the morning. If you are interested I would love to answer any questions you may have.

I always sized up just for nighttime when my son was close to needing the next size/had nighttime leaks, made a huge difference as well as using diaper doublers (Publix and BRU have them). Always Pampers, I never liked Huggies either!! Good luck!

You can use an extra diaper to pad her at night. Lay it flat, fold it in thirds the long way with the plastic on the inside, and put it inside her night diaper. ( A good way to use up diapers she's outgrown.)

I had the same issue when my daughter was about that age. Same as you I have never really liked huggies but I do have to say their Nighttime Diapers are much much better then the pampers ones. I would def give them a try.

It may not be the diapers, but the size you have her in. Even though the diapers say they are for a certain poundage, they don't always fit the baby properly. The diaper may be either too small or too big for your wee one.

Ditto the size comments. I never am able to go by the box--leaks almost always mean time to size up. If you still have a bunch left in this size, size up at night first and try to use the diapers you've already bought during the day (just make sure they're as high up in the back as possible!).

I had the same problem with my son. And I've never liked huggies either. I stuck with the night time pampers and added a diaper pad that you put inside it. Without that, he'd probably wet through to his pj's & bed practically every night.

Any time my daughters' diapers leak during the night I switch them up to the next size.

We had the same issue and used diaper doublers (I don't know the exact name, but you can Google "Diaper Doublers"). We found them at Babies R Us. They are pads that fit inside the diaper and are extremely absorbent - really fixed the problem.
I should add - I found out about them through a similar question on Mamapedia - a lot of moms endorsed them, and I am super glad I bought them!

My 21 month old did that a lot. I found some diaper inserts at Toys/Babies R Us. A months worth is like $4. You just place them in the diapers and that is it. I use generic diapers a size larger than what she needs. Hope this helps.
