I love carrot, apple, ginger and orange juice. (You juice the first three and mix it with OJ). Celery, apple, ginger. Beet and apple. all good stuff. There is a book called "Juicing for Health" that is good.
Hi, Everyone!
I just bought a juicer for the family and mainly my son who is 19 mos. Does anyone have good juicing recipies? My son is refusing almost all fruits and veggies so I thought this would be a good way to "trick" him, but also get the required daily abount in my daughter, husband and myself.
Thanks
A.

My favorite juice is two carrots, two apples and a wee slice of fresh, peeled ginger tossed into the juicer for for a little zip.
My kids' favorite smoothie is frozen mango, strawberries and a banana (not frozen). Toss in blender and blend until smooth - add water as needed.
Hi A.,
I grew up drinking carrot juice from a juicer. I'm convinced it's given me great vision...I still don't need to wear glasses. I'm sure genetics has something to do with it, but carrot juice didn't hurt.
Anyway, I say keep things simple. A carrot base can mask the taste of a lot of other veggies like: celery, red bell pepper, or even beets. Beets are packed with iron and red bell peppers have more vitamin C than oranges. Just add an apple to the mix, or even apple juice out of the bottle, stir and serve immediately.
Just remember that 4 oz. is plently for a toddler, plus you don't want him turning orange from too many carrots, like my mom accidentally did to me. Good luck and happy juicing!!!
I don't have a juicer but I just thought that I would mention that my children all drink the juicy juice fruit harvest blends. It gives them servings of fruits and veggies in every cup, the amount varies depending on the juice flavor. They are also big fans of V-8, especially the new fruit flavored ones. Just in case making your own doesn't work out.
there is a good book out there called jucing for jocks and it is by joan stanek. tells you recipies and if you child has asthma here is what foods or juice to drink etc.
good luck and I am sure it will be great!

Found a couple sites that are interesting and had some good recipes. (I think someone already gave you one of the sites. Haven't really made juices but we experiment with a lot of smoothies. A little apple juice, bananas, mangos and and blueberries are always nice additions to the smoothies.

I'm a big fan of a berry blend smoothie. I don't have a jucier so I've used the food processor and strained the berries to rid them of the seeds. Then in the blender I put some ice and the juice. I blend it until it is smooth, then add a plain yogurt. Add as much or as little as you'd like. I always taste as I'm making the smoothie. A trick I learned, if it's a bit too sweet, squeeze a little lemon into the mix. It levels off the sugary sweet of the berries.
Hi A.. I found that carrots and apples are a good combination and very healthy. It took my son a few times to try it before he would drink it.
Juice a bag of red apples (skin on, cut out core and seeds before juicing) and 1 lemon (take off peel and remove seeds before juicing) for awesome lemonade.
I have a juicer too, and love it. When I have fruit left over that we can't eat fast enough, I will juice it and pour it into ice cube trays to freeze. Then I just use 3 cubes in one of my son's sippy cups and fill it the rest of the way with either flat or sparkling water. Once the juice ice cubes melts into the water it tastes great, and also keeps his drink cold for a long time. It's fresh juice without any preservatives or added sugar.
We no longer eat dairy, but if that is not an issue for you, here is a great recipe for a mock Orange Julius:

Here is a site with copycats of Jamba Juice (I haven't tried these, but they sound good!)

I haven't had a chance to use our juicer but my husband has. He uses all kinds of fruits and veggies. One key it seems is if you use veggies, add an apple for a little sweetness or it can come out sour or bitter. He uses carrots, melon, apples and strawberries if we have any. He has not added anything like broccoli or bell peppers, though it is a possibility. We have a juiceman and it came with a bunch of recipes in a book. Caution though is that some veggies seem to produce very very little juice so you want to pair with something that does. My kids love it when he makes something up for them. this sitwe also has a couple of recipes: http://www.healthrecipes.com/juicer_recipes.htm
