Jogging Stroller - Libertyville,IL

I'm looking at getting a walking/jogging/everyday stroller. My son is 7 months old and is about grown out of his infant car seat. We have a Chicco Cortina travel system but as soon as we transition him to the new car seat I want to get a new stroller. The chicco is nice but a little big and bulky. I also want a stroller that's more all-terain. I'm looking at the Dreamer Design Park Avenue, Bumbleride Flyer and the Baby Jogger City Series. I just take long walks with an occassional jog.

Hi Chariss,

I have a 14 month old boy, and we have been using the BOB Revolution since he was 5 months old. We absolutely LOVE this stroller. I use it to go on long walks, or jogs, and my son loves it. The nice thing about the BOB is that the seat reclines. I would highly recommend this stroller, and you may even be able to find older models on sale (only difference is usually the colors) on line.

Good luck,
L.

We also have the Baby Jogger City Series and it is SO manuvarable. The only thing to consider that it is not a true jogging stroller since it doesn't have the shocks to run with it. However that makes it a lot less bulky than the other jogging strollers.

Charissa,

We just received our Bumbleride Indie and love it so far! We researched strollers for about six months before deciding on this one due to it being so light-weight and stylish, as well as easy to turn.

I don't jog, but you can take this stroller down to the beach with no problem.

Hope this helps.

I love my BOB. It's an amazing stroller. I've been able to just blast through all the snow and slush we've had with it. It's pricey but ebay is great for strollers. Albeebaby.com also has free shipping and good prices. Babyride.com is also a good site for good prices.

Charissa
I have the Baby Jogger city series and LOVE it. I also have the double now that I have 2 kids. Drives like a dream!!! I purchased the Bumbleride Flyer and had to return it. It really does not drive smoothly and the front tire seems to lock up and get tangled if I move any faster than a shopping mall stroll.
Hope that helps.

I love my Baby Jogger Urban series. I've used it since my daughter was a few weeks old (obviously just for strolls, no jogging at that age). I have friends who love the BOB Revolution. You can't go wrong with the Baby Jogger.

I have heard nothing but positive things about the BOB Revolution stroller. That's actually what I have purchased, and I plan to buy the adapter for the car seat so that I can use it as my main stroller. I'm due April 20th, so I'm afraid I don't have any direct feedback, but a lot of my friends swear by this stroller.

Good luck!

Check out the Valco Baby strollers. I have the double with the toddler seat (seating 3!) and it rolls like a dream. The tires ride like bike tires and it navigates very well.

Check out the BOB Revolution jogger stroller. The front wheel can rotate so it's super easy to move around town and then can lock for a jog. I have it and love it. Def. go to their website.

We have a Burley Bike Trailer with a Jogging Stroller Kit, and we love it. If you and your husband bike at all, it is well worth the money to have this lightweight item that can do both. Any good bike store will carry the Burley line if you want to check out the different models.

One thing to think about before buying your stroller, do you think you might be having another child? I almost bought an expensive jogging stroller when my infant was ready to "upgrade" but ended up waiting, just in case, so if I needed I could spend the money on the double stroller. I'm glad I did because, I hardly ever used my single stroller after number 2 was born. Just something to think about....

Check out www.UPPAbaby.com - this is a GREAT stroller. Larger wheels so you could jog behind it but also folds up very compact so it isn't big and bulky. If you are interested I am opening a boutique in the Lincoln Square neighborhood in April, but could order one for you sooner if you need it. Good luck with your search!

Hi Charissa- we have a Quinny Buzz for our son and love it! It's extremely easy to handle with one hand, built and designed really well and offers a comfy ride. I have to admit I was first drawn to it because of it's stylish design. We bought ours new on EBay for a great price.

My friend happens to have the Baby Jogger City Series and loves that it collapses easily with just one hand- she also loves that she doesn't have the same stroller as everyone else on the block!

Good luck!

We have the Jeep jogger, with the music option (Babies R Us). It was around $100 and, having just purchased stroller #6, this is the stroller that's gotten the most consistent use. We take a lot of walks, cross train tracks frequently, and this stroller is great. I don't jog so for me I am glad that the front wheel doesn't lock, it makes it way easier to maneuver. There's a ton of storage and the music thing is pretty cool, we can hook up the iPod and either play our songs or, now that my daughter's 3, it ends up being more like the Doodlebops these days. :)

I have the Baby Jogger City Series and really like it. I picked this stroller because it was easy to handle, narrow enough to get through doors easily, easy to turn, and seemed comfy and padded for the ride. I have had no problem holding a dog leash in one hand and pushing the stoller with the other and our stoller has been used several times daily including going up and down a short set of stairs in our building. I also like the one handed fold function for when we have to bring the stroller in the car. The stroller is a little too heavy though for everyday in/out of the car. Accessories are great too as we have added the foot muff and rain cover to get us through the Chicago winter.
The only con I have found is the harness seems small especially when you add the foot muff and you have to in general be careful with the three wheel strollers when you go up and down curbs as the stroller can easily tip.
Good luck with your choice.
