Hi Mommies, My 4 y.o. DS birthday party is coming up and we are inviting his preschool class. Should we invite his teacher? He absolutely loves her and would think it was really cool if she showed up. But is it weird to get a b-d invite from one of your pre-k students?

What can I do next?

It depends. I would but I know his teacher personally.

Be prepared for a rejection though. They spend ALL WEEK with those kids and probably NEED the weekend to recharge.

IF she shows up SHE may become the center of attention and accidentaly take it away from your son. Just something to think about...

Nope- she won't come b/c if she says yes to your child she will have to say yes to them all! Not to mention the fact that she probably would like a little break from the crew.

I was always invited to my kids parties and went to them all with my assistant. I wouldn't tell your child your inviting her just in case she can't come. But I think she would feel special, it always made me feel good because it makes you feel like your more then a teacher but a friend.

Maybe you can give HER a little birthday present - like a $5.00 Starbucks card - just an unexpected token of appreciation with an invitation saying - enjoy (child's birthday) on us. Or something like that.

As a teacher I would find it a little strange to be invited to one of my student's party. It's a nice thought, but it might make her uncomfortable.
