Can you please tell me what I can use to remove a ink stain from my husbands shirt? It has been washed but never dried. It did air dry but has not been through the dryer. I have used Milk, goo gone, finger nail polish remover, alcohol, simple green and just plain Shout. I guess I should have mentioned I did try hairspray also. Nothing has put any changes in this stain. Any ideas?

I have spent more money trying to get this stain out than the shirt is worth. It is just so upsetting because it was a really nice shirt that I got my husband for Christmas and he wore it ONCE and left a pen in his pocket and then washed it. I have now been trying for months to get the stain out and it is not working. I have done dishwashing detergent, hairspray, carbonas #3, goo gone, salt, milk, shout, tide pen, nail polish remover, alcohol NOTHING has even changed the stain at all! VERY frustrated!

If the shirt is white, or at least the part with the stain try dishwahser detergent. Just put a dab and rub it in and let it set. the stain should start to disappear, then wash it normally. It works for me. But I would only try it on white.
I use cheap hairspray. Spray directy on the spot rub with white cloth then repeat. It takes awhile but works for me. Good luck.
Try Didi 7. It is the only thing that has ever worked on ink stains in material for me.
I have used the cheap aqua net aerosol hairspray to get ink (even sharpie) out of clothes..
I find that with oil based stains, the car stuff - bug and tar remover - works really well. But definately try it on a hidden part of the garment first to make sure it doesn't do anything funky to the colour. (It also works great on mascera stains on pillow cases...)
According to a Martha Stewart stain removal chart I have, she says to rub glycerin (I guess glycerin soap would work??) into the spot, let stand 15-20 minutes, wash with dish washing detergent. I have heard hair spray, too, but have had hit and miss results. Good luck!!
Hey! I have tried the hairspray remedy and when it did work, it took way too long! I found a product at Albertsons called Carbona Stain Devils #3 Ink and Crayon and it is awesome and super cheap! I was even able to get out most of a permenant marker stain and probably could of gotten it all out but didn't have the patience and it wasn't too noticeable. Good luck! It's only a couple bucks but the only place I have found it is Albertsons. They have a bunch of stain removers and they all rock! =)
I have had a lot of luck with Oxyclean power. My husband had a shirt that his buddy spill a full glass of red wine on it. I soaked it in Oxyclean for 24 to 48 hours I think and the stain was all gone and my sink was shinny clean and bright. I think it will work for ink as well. If you can find DD7 it works for ink but it is hard to find.

there is a cleaning supply called "AWESOME" you can buy it at any 99 cent store. It is amazing, we were on vacation when my sister got black ink on her new silk coach purse, talk about freaking out. We were in New York, when my aunt pulled out a bottle of AWESOME, I had never heard of it before. We sprayed AWESOME on it and it just disappeared no rubbing or anything. maybe the material had something to do with it? but give it a try. I rushed out and bought some as soon as we came back to texas...its great stuff
HI L.
i found out a long time ago that hair spray removes ink. good luck!

one word...MELALEUCA (Sol-U-Mel) If you have never heard of it visit the website, www.melaleuca.com. Message me for more info.
Tide stick pen. It REALLY works!! My twins marked with a ball point pen and sharpie all over my couch and everything came out. I was amazed!!
Hairspray should take it out.
If nothing else works I know www.tide.com has a spot removal chart that you have to plug in all the information for cleaning results. It may be Tide products, but I'm sure they will work.
Good luck.
Hair spray and a comb.. just spray the spray on the shirt and then use a comb to work it in. Works like a charm!
Try hairspray!! It usually works! Good luck.
Yes, hairspray...make sure it's aerosol. Aqua net is what has worked for me in the past. I just got pink-hilighter on my sweatshirt in fact and I hope it will take that out too!! :)
Hands down, Solumel is the best stain remover I have ever used! It has gotten out ink, pet, & crazy food stains for me. I use it not only on clothing but also on carpet & upholstrey. It is fantastic!!!
try oxiclean. you can purchase it at a family dollar or a walmart. good luck.
Another hairspray vote - but here's how:
Put a paper towel behind the stain and spray to soak the stained area. Then blot from the top and bottom with paper towel. Repeat. Do this until the paper towel no longer pulls the ink out anymore (usually gets it all).
And, while pump or aerosol should work, ironically, the cheaper the hairspray, the better (higher alcohol content?). Anyway, FinalNet or something similar should do it.
Good luck.

I would take it to the dry cleaner. I had a pair of pants that the same thing happened, I tried everything under the sun...took it to the cleaners it came right out.
try murphy's oil soap or dryel stain remover
