All ads are not based on browser history.... some are but not all.
Some are there because they pay BIG BUCKS to be there.
A scantily clad aviatar lady is showing up on the side of this site. I'm not very happy about that. am I the only one and how do I make it go away.
Hubs usually orders me a robe from vs for xmas.but he would have gone right to the site not googgled robes or anything. So maybe that was it but still ridiculous. Thanks for the tech help she is gone now.

I'm having the same problem, and no, I have not been looking for lingerie, or video games or much of anything else.
I'm kind of laughing about the post that asks what you've been looking at! I fussed about gambling ads a long time ago, and someone told me the same thing. As if I would even know how to be looking at gambling online!!
So no, it's not because of what you've been looking at! Hope the folks suggestions help you!
(PS, the gambling ads finally went away, though I didn't do anything...!)
Go to my computer, internet options and delete browsing history and clear out your cookies...something you typed in or another site you visited is following you around. This should clear it out.
I've seen her before. I have Dr. Oz palpating a gigantic abdomen dressed in a sports bra-- or at least, that is what it looks like.
I don't have adblock which may be the problem.
I see NO ads on my sidebar....
I use Firefox, and also use the "Adblocker" add-on/plug-in.....
the only ads I see are the "mamapedia" ads occasionally....
Right now, I have "recently Asked Questions" and a poll, asking "Best Age to Be - If you could be any age, which would you choose?"
I will say, however, I rarely go to the main page of mamapedia... I just keep my tab open to the "Questions and answers" tab....
Firefox with the Adblock add-in is a beautiful thing!
Try clearing you history?? Click on the "back" arrow and hold down an clear your browsing history-maybe that will work-not sure, sorry-no tech savvy.
I haven't been looking up anything nasty, and I've been getting the same ad you described. It isn't there consistently, though. And if you refresh the screen, it'll go away to be replaced by something innocent. However, it will eventually cycle back through if you refresh the page enough times. I have no idea if this means it's related to my searches somehow, or if mamapedia has become a lot less selective in their advertisers, but either way, it's getting really old.
What browser are you using?
One of the best add-on's I've ever downloaded: https://adblockplus.org/en/firefox
That link is set up for firefox, but just to the right of the green install button there are options for other browsers. I see NO adds on this site.
Clear your history and cookies. That should help.
I get ads related to my recent (within 2 weeks) searches. Maybe somebody's been googling slutty avatar girls???????
Top right of some of the ads is an x and you can "mute this ad"
You can also write the powers that be. When I had trouble with a disruptive ad, I wrote Mamapedia and showed them what the ad was doing to my page.
Also, if you click the arrow on the right side, you can opt out of ads from that company.
I notice that my recent searches show up in ad form, here, on FB and pretty much every other site that has pop up ads.
So right now I'm seeing Mini Cooper, Modcloth and ads for kindle covers and mary jane heels :-(
Have you been looking at lingerie lately, have you been on Victoria's Secret, or has your husband? That could explain it!
i think it depends on your browser history.
my safari USED to have a 'block pop-up' option which has interestingly disappeared. but i'm happy to say that your pin-up gal has not visited me.

Well, I'm seeing Maytag and Comcast ads so you must be more interesting :)
The ads that show up are based on your browser history. Whatcha been looking at :)
It's not always connected to your past searches. These mothers are bring judgmental...
Hope not to be the bearer of bad news, but the ads I see are all directly related to internet searches I did recently. I would search your internet history and see what recent searches might have been done from your computer. Also clear history and cookies, should stop the avatar.
I've got lacrosse equipment, Samsung and LL Bean. Someone who uses your computer has more fun than I do ;-)
Clear your history and cookies and see if that clears them out.
Huh. That's interesting. I started getting them just before I opened this question--which is why I opened it, actually. Now they are gone. But I went to my browser's history, and the only thing that even MIGHt be related was a news story regarding Jameis Winston and some searches for exercise equipment at a big chain sporting goods store.
Dick's. Hmmm..
I only see Maytag and Target. Booooring.
I have cost plus/world market christmas stuff and a charity hunger ad to donate to, because I must have googled or clicked on a related ad. The Maytag ad is up top on my screen.
edit: now there is a necktie ad. I was just looking at gap and old navy for a tie for my son's Christmas concert.
I haven't seen that one. I guess complain to the staff, they set the advertisements. I wouldn't like that either.
Search for something more interesting. I was looking at Oriental Trading yesterday and now I have ads from them on my page. Gingerbread houses and elves and toys. Yay.
