Well, definitely stop giving him the teething tablets! Hyland Teething Tablets actually contain belladonna which is poisonous, albeit in supposedly small enough amounts not to be harmful, but clearly your son might be reacting to it. That said I gave the tablets to my daughter for teething, along with Orajel, frozen washcloths, teething rings, and Tylenol but none of those things worked for her. The only thing that brought her relief was Children's Motrin. I told this to the pediatrician and he said he hears that all the time. Definitely check with your pediatrician for the right dosage. Good luck!

My baby had frequent spitting up when we used the tablets. We quit using them and found a much better method. There are these neat little contraptions that you can get at the baby-supply store. Kind of looks like a pacifier. There is a big ring to hold onto on one end. The other end has a little net that we fill with frozen blueberries. You can get back-up net baggies as well. She loves it, and it soothes her gums perfectly.
The only problem is that it's a mess. When it's warm, we just put her on a big purple towel (or outside) with her diapers and no clothes. When it's cold, we have designated blueberry clothes. It's a mess, but it's a vitamin-filled goodness of a mess. And, she loves the bath or warm washcloth afterward.

No, I honestly haven't experienced that. Hylands were well tolerated by both of my children.

I didn't know about the ttething tablets until after my baby had his teeth, but I did get one of these and it was fantastic. I would just put a chunk of banana or soft fruit in it, freeze it for about 1 hour to get it really cold and then let him gum on it for a while. It really soothed his gums, he could get it way back in his mouth and still not choke on anything. This also worked great with ANY cold fruit or veggies or food in general.
Just because Hylands is "all natural" doesn't mean your baby isn't going to have a reaction. I think if he is throwing up, it's probably not best for him. Try the cold fruit.
Good luck

AHHHH!!! Go to http://www.hylands.com/news/teethinginfo.php to read their statement on the teething tablets. The way that homeopathics are made uses the ingredients in small doses. The belladonna in this form is not toxic! In order to become toxic in this amount a child would have to consume 6 bottles of 125 tablets each to reach the levels to be considered toxic!!!!

We never had trouble with them, but that's not to say your child doesn't. Consult a naturopath or homeopathic doctor.

Use caution with products that numb, if you have an allergy to any medications ending in -caine (benzocaine, lidocaine, etc) it can cause your throat to close and inhibit breathing!

I have given the hylands with the last two babies, and have not had any problems. Are you sure that your baby doesn't have this stomach bug that's been going around? Otherwise, you probably should switch to something like gripe water or just plain baby orajel.

We never had any problems with them. Loved them. But, maybe there is something that upsets his tummy.
