Hey mamas,
So hopefully some of you awesome cooks can help me out! My hubs LOVES wings! I bought some good wing sauce for a recipe and didn't use it so I am thinking I should just try whipping up some wings to surprise him. I am thinking it is pretty straight forward. Fry the wings, coat with sauce. Is that over simplifying? As far as the frying goes how exactly do you do that? I really don't fry too much, so I am not sure how it is done. I would imagine just salt and pepper, dredge with flour and throw in grease? How long should they cook on each side? Are there any tricks to doing it right I am not thinking of? Thanks!!

Ok, here are my wings
Valentino Hot Sauce 1/2 jar HOT
Valentino Hot Sauce 1jar Mild
1stick butter
pre heat oven 350
mix room temp butter with the sauce and coat wings then place on baking sheet (foil lined) bake for 30 min then coat again RIGHT AWAY! You can also fry them 5-8 min each depending on size of wings, pat some grease off then soak in sauce.
I typically bake them and everyone asks me to bring them to gatherings so those are my wings!

Deep fry without the flour, and dredge in sauce. You can mix Frank's red hot with equal parts butter (or less for hotter wings).

This is really simple, and really delicious. There is no need to flour the wings, all I do is fry them straight out of the package. I like them crispy on the outside so I make sure they are golden before I remove them so they don't get soggy once the sauce is added. Also, I make my own sauce. Just melt a little butter in a pan and then add Louisiana hot sauce to taste.... that way you can control the heat factor.

J., we had a super bowl party and I made the best wings EVER!!! I bought a frozen 4 pund bag. Preheat oven to 400. Dump frozen wings on large cookie sheet and spread in one layer. Sprinkle with seafood/poultry seasoning (I got mine at Dollar Tree!!). Bake for about an hour. Take out and turn them all over, sprinkle again and bake about 10-15 more minutes. The come out crispy and no extra oil!!! Dip in your favorite wing sauce (we decided to do this because I am so NOT spicy and my hubby is EXTRA spicy!!!). Everyone raved about them...good luck!!! oh, and hubby and the kids ate the left overs tonight and said heated in the micro they are still great!!!

I make the best wings if I say so myself : - ) I get the "Friday's" as in the TGIF restaurant wings in the frozen food section of the food store. They are as good at home as when you get them out. We cook them longer than the box says though because we like them crispy.

My husband is a wing fanatic and has found the best way to make wings! We don't make them that often, but when he does...they are the best! You have to grill them first and then toss them in a deep fryer for about 5 minutes. Then you coat them with your sauce. This is the best way to make them!

Frank's wing sauce is a really good one, you can add in a little Tabasco depending on how spicy you want them. I just fry them and then coat with the sauce. Melt some butter or margarine and then add the sauce.. I do my hubby's more spicy with extra sauce and mine not as spicy and add bbq sauce and the frank's. Good Luck!!

Wings are so yummy!! My hubby likes them coated in flour like fried chicken which is the way Hooters does them. I like them uncoated and just fried or baked with no coating. I looked up two new recipes for Super Bowl. Taco Wings and Sesame Wings. YUMMMYYYY!! These can be baked or grilled. They were a huge hit on Sunday! Enjoy!

Baked Taco Wings
Tasty chicken wings with taco seasonings and crushed corn chips. These chicken wings are oven-fried.
Ingredients:
1/2 cup all-purpose flour
1 envelope (approx. 1 1/4 ounces) Taco Seasoning Mix
3 pounds chicken wings, tips removed, cut at the joints
6 tablespoons butter
1 cup crushed Doritos or other corn chips
Preparation:
Combine flour with Taco Seasoning Mix in a plastic food storage bag. Add chicken wings, a few at a time, and shake to coat thoroughly.
Melt butter in a 15x10x1-inch baking pan (jelly roll pan size) or a large roasting pan. Add chicken to the pan turning over to coat well with the melted butter. Roll chicken pieces in corn chips then return to the baking pan. Bake at 350° for 45 minutes. Cook Time: 45 minutes. It makes about 32 taco chicken wing appetizers.

Sesame Chicken Wings
Sesame chicken wings with garlic, green onions, sesame seeds, soy sauce, and other ingredients. These chicken wings should be marinated for at least 2 hours, so plan to prepare them in advance.
Ingredients:
1/2 cup soy sauce
1/4 cup water
1/4 cup sugar
2 tablespoons sesame oil
4 green onions, with tops, sliced
2 medium garlic cloves, minced
2 tablespoons sesame seeds
dash ground black pepper
dash ground cayenne pepper, optional
3 pounds chicken wings
Preparation:
In a large food storage bag, combine soy sauce, water, sugar, sesame oil, green onions, garlic, sesame seeds, and peppers. Add chicken wings; turn bag to coat well. Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or overnight, turning occasionally.
Remove chicken to a shallow rack in baking dish or roasting pan. Discard the marinade. Bake wings, uncovered, at 350° for 30 minutes. Turn wings and bake 25 minutes longer, or until tender. It makes 6 to 8 appetizer servings. Cook Time: 30 minutes

I would coat them in sauce, marinate in the fridge for a few hours and BAKE, not fry them. Then, baste with sauce when they are done to make them good and gooey.

Bake at 400 for 20-30 mins. and you should be good to go. You may have to turn them once in the middle of the cooking time.

I just made a big batch of wings on Sunday. I don't fry them, I bake mine and they come out nice and crispy. I use a little olive oil, rub them with some spices and bake them in the oven at 375 for 35-45 minutes. I'm sure you could coat them with sauce and bake them too.

Here is the best wing I know how to make. Dust the chicken wings in lemon pepper and let them sit covered on the counter for around 15-20 minutes. Or at least while you heat the grease. For one thing, throwing cold food into a fryer will rapidly bring down the oil temp and will get you wings that are hot on the outside, but raw on the inside. The lemon pepper gives it that flavor that goes beyond just coating in sauce. It's a little, "hmm what is that" background flavor. Then cook the wings completely submerged in hot oil for 10 minutes each batch. Drain and toss with sauce. Put them in the oven on low to keep warm and crisp while you wait for the next batch. You already have your sauce picked out, but I can give you a couple good ones for next time.
Bottle bbq sauce - I like the chipotle bbq or spicy honey, something with a lot of flavor
Bottle terryaki sauce
This is a wierd one, but people go nuts - I buy a handful of the garlic butter dipping sauce from the pizza place- makes perfect garlic wings.
The original - mix Franks red hot with real butter.
Another wierd but awesome one - get a bottle of peanut sauce from the asain section. It's so good as a wing sauce.
