Any help with Chicken too would be great...once again ..George Forman. George is just getting too bland and boring and hubby wants something different. My mom wasn't that great of a cook so I really need some help here, I had no one to learn from!!

Hi J., My husband got me the George foreman 360 GRILL, for my birthday in Nov., the large round red one with removable plates for Quesadillas, baking pan/deep Pizza pan and grill plates. It is fantastic! For Christmas he got me the G. Foreman COOKBOOK for the grilling machines, and I am going to peruse the book and see what great pork and chicken recipes I can get out of there for you... I just want to know something. ANY CUISINE ok? Like spicy? Cos I know they have THAI and INDIAN and CARRIBEAN or CAJUN style spicy recipes and other ethnic lands. Do you want any of those? ANd also, WHAT GRILL do you have? You don't have the one with the GRIDDLE/ PIZZA PLATE do you? Cos that makes a difference in the recipes I will send you...

for chicken:

coat in barbeque sauce, then in shake & bake. bake for around 40 minutes at 350.

dice up the chicken and brown it with a little butter. remove chicken & cover it. in the pan, make stovetop, then add a can of cream of mushroom soup. add the chicken back on, heat through, and top with cheese.

for porkchops:

mix a can of coke with 1/2 cup of ketchup. place chops in backing dish, pour mixture over it, cover and bake for about 25-35 minutes at 350.

coat chops with egg. mix italian breadcrumbs with parmesan cheese, coat chops with this. fry up with a bit of olive oil, until browned. add a can of diced or stewed tomatoes, cover and simmer about 10 minutes. you can add some sliced black olives to this as well.

for more ideas, try kraftfoods.com and allrecipes.com
on both of those sites, you can search by ingredient or by the category of food. a lot of the stuff, especially on the kraft site, is super easy and takes stuff that you typically have at home anyway.

good luck and good eating!

Hi J.,
This is how we make them. We dip in a beaten egg and then into a shallow bowl of Italian seasoned breadcrumbs. Then place on a cooking sheet sprayed lightly with Pam and bake in the oven at 350 for about 40-50 minutes or until done. Kind of like a homemade Shake & Bake--which is yummy too! Can do same with boneless chicken rests or chicken tenderloins.

Not sure about chops, but for chicken and hamburger, my 3 favorite spices are garlic powder, seasoned salt and black pepper. I learned the combo from a boyfriend years ago and it has never failed me. Just shake 'em on as you cook, the flavor soaks in. It'll be a little more clean-up on the George, but hubby will love it.

I have two favorite pork chop recipes!

1.) Brown both sideds of bonesless pork chops in a little buttler in frying pan. Add a can on "Delmonte petite diced tomatoes with basil, garlic and oregano" cover and simmer 20 mins. Delish and sooo easy!

2.) Spray a 9 X 13 baking dish with cooking spray. Spread a 21oz can of apple pie filling in bottom and top with pork chops. Prepare a 6oz box of stove top stuffing and spread on top of chops. Cover with foil and bake at 375 for 30 mins. Uncover and bake an addl 10 minutes, or until chops are done. Enjoy!

This recipe works for pork chops or chicken breasts. I have to give credit to Weight Watchers where I found this recipe, but I use it all the time! Mix bread crumbs (about a third of a cup) and grated parmesan cheese (A few tablespoons) and salt and pepper (to taste), coat chops/breasts with mixture and bake in a 400 degree oven: about 20mins. for the chicken and longer for the chops.
They come out moist and tendet, don't take long to make, and I've never had any complaints, especially if I serve the chops with a side of applesauce for "dipping!"
Bon Appetit!

No time to raed other posts tonight so sorry if these are a repeat -

Marinate and grill - my very favorite for chops is Wishbone Sweet and Spicy French Dressing (with the salad dressings) My favorite for chicken is Wishbone Italian. I have another great marinade recipe but it is long so I will post tomorrow.

The pork chops I serve with any side dish and veggie. With the chicken, you can put it on a garden salad with veggies and some shredded cheese; you can wrap it in tortillas with fajita toppings; on buns for sandwiches;

Grill or sautee in skillet and a little oil until cooked through and then: Mix with a jar of alfredo sauce and fresh broccoli and serve over pasta; heat a jar of chicken gravy and add the chicken, pop some frozen biscuits in the oven and serve the chicken over them (toss some frozen peas in with the chicken/gravy for added nutritional content).

For chicken breasts or pork chops: beat an egg, dip the meat into the egg then into Italian seasoned breadcrumbs and bake until no longer pink. Variation - top with spaghetti sauce before baking, add a little cheese (mozz and/or parmagiana) the last few minutes, serve with pasta.

In summer, mix some chicken into your favorite macaroni salad for a complete dish.

Chicken breasts - mix togeher 1/2 cup mayo + 1/4 cup parm, spread over chicken and bake (400 for ~20-25 minutes for boneless/skinless, I think, but that's off the top of my head - and depends on thickness of chicken) or bake the same time/temp but top with thin layer of mayo and add some shredded cheddar and chopped tomatoes at the end (just long enough to melt cheese) - you can also add some sliced green onions to that if you like them. Serve with pasta, mac&cheese, rice, or whatever you like, and a veggie. These last two are so easy my 15 yo dd can do them - get your oldest especially involved, she can do these too! :-) Maybe she can come up with come creative combos of her own... Good luck!

Hi J.,
I,m sorry, but I am not good with pork chops. I do, have a great and easy chicken recipe:
Crowd Pleasing Baked Chicken

Chicken parts with skin on (I make my wings this way also)
Salt
Pepper
Your Favorite Dipping Sauce

Preheat oven 425°

Put Chicken skin side up in an oven proof pan (I use a foil lined cookie sheet). Season chicken with Salt and Pepper. Bake for 1 hour. Remove from pan and serve.

Wing Sauce:
½ c. Frank’s Red Hot sauce
1-3 Tbs. Butter

In a small sauce pan, over low heat, mix Frank’s Red Hot and butter until combined. Add more butter for milder sauce and less butter for hotter sauce.

Honey BBQ Sauce:
½ c. BBQ sauce
Honey (to taste)

In a small sauce pan, combine BBQ Sauce and honey. Serve warm.
Good luck

I, too, swear by allrecipes.com for new ideas. You can read other people's reviews of a recipe before trying it, and they even have a suggestion where you can search just by specific ingredients that you want to include.

My big suggestion for meats like poultry and chicken (even beef, if you want to try that for something special) is marinating them. Just throw it all in a bag the night before and cook as you usually do. If you don't want to whip up your own, look for ready made ones in your grocery store. I always have a few packets of Grill Mates by McCormick on hand - although there are probably other good brands, too. There are also some bottled ones (they are near the salad dressing at our store) that you can try. If the meat seems a bit tough, you can always pound it or poke it with a sharp fork before putting it in the marinade.

Good luck~

I made some in the crock pot that was SO easy and pretty tasty. It was from a southern Living cook book. I can dig up the recipe if you are interested. I think i just coated the chops with flour and maybe a pinch of ground mustard, browned them in a pan, poured the left over flour into some beef broth and threw everything in the crock pot. Tender Pork Chops with gravy. I served it with buttered noodles. YUm

I would also suggest. allrecipe.com they are great, because there are reviews that help you learn more about cooking and usually they have pictures and you can just print your recipe and it's all free no registration to hassle with or anything. there is also Saving Dinner that you might try.

have fun experimenting.

My hubby, kids and I all love this recipe that is actually a weight watchers recipe (definitely nice when the whole family loves it:). I modified it because it was orignally for a pork roll. The best part is we tend to have all or nearly all the ingredients at home.

Anyway, you cook the pork chops - you can still do them on the Forman grill. In the meantime, mix together 1 cup of fresh or frozen cranberries, 1/4 cup of BBQ sauce, 2 tablespoons of brown sugar firmly packed and 2 apples, peeled, cored and chopped.

In a saucepan, heat up the cranberries, brown sugar, BBQ sauce and apples and bring to a boil. Reduce the heat and let simmer for about 15 minutes. Spoon over cooked pork chops and dinner is done.

We often make this once a week and even make it for company because most people seem to love it. I am not a big cranberry fan, but the taste isn't too strong in here.

Enjoy:)

I cook chicken in the fry pan with some onions, butter, milk, chicken broth... and thicken it up with a little flour. Then i put it in a pan with stuffing on top and bake it. It is a big hit with my husband and kids!!

Also if you fry breaded chicken you can put that in a pan with sauce and cheese and make chicken parm. Yum :-)

hi J., i have a great idea for both chops and chicken! for the chicken (my favorite) is stuffed chicken. now i am NOT a great cook, i leave that to my love, but this, i can do! all i do is slice the chicken (skinless and boneless) down the middle like a taco shell, (if they are thin breasts, you can just place one on top of the other) and place in stuffing (stove top/ or generic- doesnt matter). hold together with tooth picks. bake on 425 for about 20-25 mins (check yours because every oven is different). the extra stuffing can be used as another side along with mashed potatoes and some chicken gravy! also the chops- we usually get the thinner ones and pan fry them with strips of bacon layed over the top of the chops. try and see what you like!

1 way...
lay pork chops in a baking pan. put 1 tsp of crushed garlic on each. mix water, white vinegar, and soy sauce. pour over pork chops. sprinkle with bay leaves and bake for 1 hour.

also try this way...
fill pan with enough water to cover bottom pf pan. coat both sides of pork chops with cinnamon sugar. top each with a pat of butter and bake for one hour

I found a recipe for a rub for pork chops that was really good, even my husband who usually doesn't like pork chops loved them!

1/2 tsp thyme
1/4 tsp chipotle chile powder or red pepper (I used ground red pepper)
1/2 tsp chili powder
1/2 tsp Cajun seasoning (I didn't have any and left this part out)
1/2 tsp salt
1/8 tsp black pepper
(I also sprinkled some garlic powder in the mix)

Combine the seasonings and rub it all over the pork chops. Let them stand for about 10-15 min. Grill them in a pan, in the broiler, or the George Foreman would work too.

I doubled the seasoning recipe because I didn't think it would be enough to cover the amount of meat that I had. If you do double it, I wouldn't double the amount of red pepper. It was a bit spicy, but if your family likes spicy you'll be just fine!

Hi J., Do you have a crock pot? Throw your boring chicken in the crock pot (I use the frozen boneless/skinless 3 lb bag of chicken breast) sprinkle a whole pack of zesty Itlian dressing mix over the chicken with 1/2 cup of water and let it cook all day! The chicken is moist, tastes great and is fork tender! If you have any left-overs the chicken is great on salads too! Best wishes!

I love to cook and so will you. I watched my mom, grand mom and older sisters in the kitchen all my life. I'm not sure if you like fried foods; but if you do, wash your chops off in cold water, then add 1/2 tsp of pepper, seasoning salt, garlic powder and meat tenderizer. If you fry, cover chops with flour and add to hot oil (be careful). Now, if baking add about 1 tbsp of butter, cover with foil and bake on 300 for about 2 1/2 hrs. or until the meat is cooked. Remember, with pork, you have to cook slow. The same would apply for chicken too. Only bake chicken at 350. Good luck.

My husband and I LOVE this recipe...

OVEN-FRIED PORK CHOPS
4 pork loin chops, cut 3/4" thick
2 Tbsp margarine or butter, melted
1 beaten egg (I usually use 2, just to be sure)
2 Tbsp milk (I use about 4 instead)
1/4 tsp black pepper
1 cup herb-seasoned stuffing mix or corn bread stuffing mix, crushed (I use 2 "tubes" Ritz crackers, crushed, to me the slight sweetness of the Ritz crackers complemented the pork chops much better than the stuffing)

Trim fat from meat, Pour margarine into 13x9" pan. Combine egg, milk, and pepper. Dip chops into egg mixture. Coat with stuffing mix. Place in pan.
Bake in a 425 degree oven for 10 minutes. Turn chops. Bake about 10 more minutes or till no pink remains and juices run clear.

I hope this helps...thanks for the question, I had totally forgotten this recipe, till I read your question. We will be having it again real soon...best of luck with your meal search!
