Help...the Infamous 3-4Mth Preggo Belly and Needing a Dress for Wedding

Ahhh I'm 11.5 weeks into my 3rd pregnancy and so already showing (at least to me), but to the general public probably just look like I ate a 3 course meal by myself--you know the not quite sure is she pregnant tummy pudge. I wasn't even this close to ever showing with my other two at this point, and I'm at loss on what type of dress to buy for an upcoming wedding I have this next weekend.

We haven't announced our pregnancy yet, to anyone but my best friends and family. I didn't plan to say anything until I finished my 13 week, but now I don't know what to do. I have a very long torso and so its very difficult to find nice dresses that fits me well when not preggo, and I'm going out of my mind trying to find something that doesn't totally emphasize my almost pregnant looking pudge.

Anyone have any suggestions for types, ways to hide, or do I just put a dress on and strut around like I could care less and show that pot belly with pride? Announce the pregnancy so at least I don't feel so self conscious about it? Uggg the only dress I found that I liked was a firey red dress---I'm assuming red is a no go for a wedding, right? I believe the wedding is early afternoon so not really a formal evening wedding, am I pushing it if I go a pant outfit route?

I don't know if you all can help, maybe just more of a vent--and hormones got me all worked up--I even started crying in the dressing rooms and I'm so not emotional---LOL!

What can I do next?

unless it's really formal, I usually wear a skirt and nice shirt to weddings, unless it's cold, then I wear nice slacks. Unless you're in the bridal party, no one will probably care what you're wearing as long as you look nice. So wear what you're comfortable in if you're not ready to announce yet.

Opt for something with an empire waist (that sits just below the bust line) or something A-Line. It should hang just in front of your belly, not cling and not look like you are wearing a bag. Cheer up, you have a very joyous and valid excuse for your pot belly. Trust me, it's a lot better than having to say that you have just put on some weight!

I just read your responses and I was about to write what Abbie said...Empire waistlines are totally "in" and some of the dresses out there are adorable. I was at ROSS last week and picked up a couple...I'm not pregnant but DO NOT have abs of steel like I used to. I knew a flattering style had to recycle soon!

Please don't cry! Everything is going to be WONDERFUL!

Congratulations on your little one!!!

I would totally go w/ a pantsuit if that's what make you feel comfortable. Or a dress w/ an umpire waist? If its an early afternoon wedding, it's not formal.
A guest of our evening wedding showed up in a T-shirt, Khaki shorts and SANDALS lol.
I didn't even notice until pictures. lol Anyways, relax and breathe, I'm sure you can find something totally appropriate! And congratulations :)

So you are 11.5 weeks and we are talking about a wedding one week away....? SO you will be 12.5 weeks along and you were waiting to be 13 weeks.... close enough!! I would wear whatever you want and strut around announcing your pregnancy. I vote keep your hand on your belly in that way pregnant women do to show they're not just pot bellied, lol.

If you want to downplay the tummy, I would wear some dressy pants, a beautiful blouse, and some heels.

I would wear some light structure shapewear to support your belly and find a dress you like. Hanes has a nice line of it for like 8 bucks at the drugstore. The baby is so tiny at that point you aren't squishing it. I did this until I was 14 weeks with baby 3 and ready to tell work. I would say no to red. Good luck!

An empire waist dress, especially if it gathers in the front, so there is more fabric in that area.

A few years ago I attended my brother-in-law's wedding with my two young (ages 3 and 10 months) children. My husband was best man so he was not available to help. I knew I'd be running around a lot so I wore black wool slacks, a simple top and a loose swinging cardigan with shiny ballet flats. It was elegant, comfortable, and practical and I felt like a million bucks.
You don't have to wear a dress!

Two words: Empire Waist. I am tall and have a long torso and that is the best early through late pregnancy type of dress to wear. It is easy to hide if you want and very roomy when you get bigger.
