I also recommend the Phil and Teds double sport buggy - AWESOME stroller - I have a 15 month old and 4 year old and they both fit well in it when going on walks, zoo, etc.
I need a double stroller that will fold up and fit in the trunk of a jetta. I also need one that will hold a infant carrier and still have room for my 2 year old. Does anyone have a suggestion of what kind I need to look at investing in?

I recommend a tandem stroller that has one seat for the baby or the car seat and the back has a place for the 2 yo to sit or stand. I had a Joovy tandem and loved it. I am not sure if it will fit in a Jetta but go to Babies R Us and they will usually take a product out to the car to see if it fits.
Hello,
We had our children very close together so I understand what you are going through. When we needed our dbl stroller we looked at all the major retailers and then tried Cosco. They don't have one here in NC where I am located ut you can look at their website and see what they currently have available. Price wise they were cheaper then the rest and quality was the same. Now I am going back 4 years which in the bay gear world is a lifetime but still. Good luck and I hope I helped a little. ~R.
The only one with an infant seat attachment that I have found when looking was a BOB stroller. They are pretty expensive and the attachment costs extra. The cost is $600+. We got the Baby Trend Expidition from babies r us and just placed a little head positioner thing in it. We have had Bennett (now 5 months) and Lauren (2 1/2) in it since he came home. It folds up very easily and compact. It was about $160. We have been very happy with it for the money. Good luck!

I recently bought a Baby Trend Sit-n-Stand Plus for my 20-month-old and newborn. It is fantastic! The baby's carrier fits right on the front, and there is plenty of room in the second seat for my toddler. When he is old enough, it converts to a sit-n-stand by taking off the back seat. I had to get the double one because my guy is still so young, but you may be able to get the regular sit-n-stand.
I ordered from www.strollerdepot.com because of the free shipping.
I have a two year old daughter and a son due in June. I did a lot of research on double strollers. My daughter is hard to wrangle so I was not crazy about the sit-n-stand (although I think it is a great product) so I decided on the Baby Jogger City Elite Double. I wanted something I could use on the street and in stores. This fits through all standard sized doors and has 12" wide-tread pneumatic tires (good for every terrain). It is expensive at $650 but worth every penny for my needs. There is a car seat adaptor option for an additional $100 but I have read a ton of reviews on this stroller and many people are able to omit that purchase and put the new baby in the seat comfortably with a snuzzler. Another strong contender was the Bumbleride Indie Twin 2009 Double (same price but incl. car seat adaptor). Good luck on your search and congrats on your new addition!!
I am needing a double stroller as well. I saw this lady with one when I was out, it was a koalacare I believe is the name of it. It was really cool, however, she did say it was heavy, and I'm not sure how small it actually folds up. I need somethingg with 2 seats though because my son will only be 19 months when this one comes along. Maybe a sit and stand like the other ladies said? GL and congrats!!
Do not invest a lot of $$$ into a stroller at this point. We got a $800 Mointain Buggy double when our second was born . I loved loved the stroller but our oldest refused to ride(he was 23 months at that time) so I was pushing baby in it most of the time. SO I sell my nice stroller and get this very compact safty first double(that looks like single) but our oldest then decides that he wants to ride now and his seat needs to be comfy ( recline and have a shade:))
So on Craigslist we went again. The funny thing is that the stroller that we ended up using the most(used it into the ground) was the one that I never even considered. It came from Graigslist in the "package" with britax car seat that
I needed at that time so I decided to try. It was Combi Counterpart. I always thought of Combis being flimsy but wow that thing really surprised me.It was lightweight yet held my boys(3 and 1 at the time and both off the charts)very well even with my oldest in the front.(and on the days that we had our 3 year old God daughter all 3 would ride in it with back seat reclined flat:))The 6 sets of wheels on it were monsters, it went through grass, gravel and wooded trails. Both seats reclined(front parcially, back flat). t had great canopies(I had to work on the back one a little so it could go all the way forward, but it was an easy fix)
Handle was high enough even for my 6'4 hubby(however he did have to adjust his stride a bit). There is no tray in the back but we used just fold up kind from One step ahead. It folded smaller compare to Graco Duo(nothing like double maclaren though) and was a lot lighter.SO that's what worked for us.
You just have to try out and see what works for you. Some people like tandem, some hate them , some people like side by side some hate them. I could ever do side by side in the stores, but I like them for the walks.
MY 2 cents:)
My older two children are two yrs and six months apart. I invested in a Sit-n-Stand Stroller by Baby Trend.
Hi K.,
I would suggest the Baby Trend Sit n Stand LX. We got one from Target for approx. $83 and it's wonderful! Doesn't take up much room and my kids love it. They are 2 and 1/2 years apart in age. It holds the infant carrier and then converts to just a regular seat. Holds 44 lbs. per seat.
Best wishes and congrats on your new addition to be!

I don't know how big the trunk of a Jetta is, but I have a '98 Honda Accord, and I bought the Phil and Teds double sport buggy when I had my san, and I LOVED it... sill do!
It is able to be used as a double or single, and is far from bulky when in use. Plus, I never had to worry about the possiblilty of "driving' across grass.. it can handle anything!
You should check it out for yourself... it is not sold in stores, but many websites have them available. Oh, and they have come out with a "new and improved" model that looks really cool; however, it's about twice the price of an already $$ stroller.. depends on what you can afford!
Good luck, and congratulations!

I don't know if it will fit in the trunk of a Jetta but I have the Graco Duo. It's the model from a couple of years ago that I got on sale because Target was getting rid of the pattern. An infant carrier (like the Graco Snugride) will attach in the front or back. I have 2 boys that are just shy of being 17 mths apart. It works for me!
They are now 2 1/2 and 13 months.
graco duo glider. i love this stroller im so glad i got it!
