I would pick Grady. I really like the Oliver, but the other people are right, it's a really common name these days. Good luck!
My husband and I are expecting our second boy in Feb. When I was pregnant with our first we had a very hard time agreeing on a name, he wants something very unusual and I like more common old fashion names. So when we found out it was another boy the name fued began again. Our first sons name is Sawyer, which we love and get lots of compliments on, Its unique but you can still pronounce it and spell it. We have come up with three name choices that are a compromise (none of them are our first choices but the only ones we both agree could work). First off, If you hate one of the names please keep it to yourself, its hard enough coming up with something we agree on and when people comment negatively on it it just burst our bubble. If you hate all the names than please choose the one you dislike the least. Thanks =)Here goes..
Miles
Grady
Oliver
Havent decided on a middle name yet. We would like the name to go well with Sawyers name and our last name Forslund. Thanks again.
I would pick Grady. I really like the Oliver, but the other people are right, it's a really common name these days. Good luck!
I had a crush on a boy named Grady so that's my vote! Oliver is nice too but I know a grade school boy with that name so I think it's getting more common.
I really like oliver. Maybe because Oli sounds like a cute nickname. Oliver Grady would be nice ...
I think Oliver goes best with Sawyer.
I think Grady goes well with Sawyer. Both sound a little gritty-cowboy like. Miles and Oliver and cute together. Grady, Grady, Grady!
I love Grady! I like Oliver too, but it's more common than Grady. I think Grady matches Sawyer for being uncommon but still easily spelled and pronounced. Have fun naming!
I LOVE Oliver!! I think it is so cute. Miles and Grady are very cute too, but I vote for Oliver. I really don't think you can go wrong with any of the names.:) I also think Sawyer is a very good name. I compliment you and your husband for coming up with original, fun, but easy to spell names! Good luck!
I think all of your names are nice; but Grady hit me as really special with your last name. God Bless you all!

First I'd like to say that I love all of those names! I think that "Oliver" would be a terrific middle name for either Miles or Grady (I love the 3-syllables between the first and last names), but Olivia was one of the most popular girls' names last year, and since Oliver was about 140th most popular in the US (and the THIRD in the UK!), it might disappoint you in a first name, if you're looking for uniqueness.
Of the three, Grady was the least popular in the US in 2007 (340th). Miles is 189th. And I love both those names, but I prefer the sound of Grady together with your last name, and prefer Miles if you take in the meanings of the names. So I'm no help at all, lol.
If you're really wanting some unique names for a middle name, try looking at http://www.ssa.gov/OACT/babynames/
You can tell it to show you the top 1000 names, and then scroll to the bottom and work your way up. You have to watch for spellings, though. For instance, Trystan wasn't popular, but Tristan was.
I LOVE the name Sawyer, by the way! It was 240th in popularity in the US last year. I was surprised when I couldn't find my new great-granddaughter's name anywhere on the list, and they weren't even looking for "unique". They just were trying to find something they both liked. It's "Lenore Olive". Most of her relatives are trying to find a pet name for her, lol. If we look up the name Lenore, we get nothing but dark comics and poems, although I always loved Edgar Allen Poe's poem, "Lenore".
I compliment you a LOT on naming your first son Sawyer ... he's a little woodcutter in a waterfall grove, if you take the meaning for his first and last names! Since one meaning for Miles is "peaceful", that would make him a peaceful waterfall grove, while Grady would be a noble waterfall grove. I love both those names ... maybe your choice should be made once you decide whether he seems to be a peaceful little guy, lol
Sorry I'm no help. Other than that I don't choose Oliver, I just can't pick between the other two terrific names!
Kelsy,
I like Miles and Grady. What about Miles Grady Forslund?
You two could always do what my Hubby and I did for our second. It was a moot point because #2 was a girl and we used the name we had chosen if my son was a girl. But it gave us something to do if she had been a boy.
I have a baby name book from around the world. We went through the sections that we liked and wrote down names we liked independently. We thought about it for a day or two. We went back to our lists and started to revise, again independently. Eventually we weeded our lists down to maybe 10-20 names. At that point we sat down together and gave each other the power to say no to the other's lists, with the power to veto if we really liked the name. From that we got down to I think 5 names. I don't remember the whole process now, but we eventually settled on Damian Marcus. And those two names were two that were on our common name list that we both had liked.
Did that make sense?
Anyway, that's my two cents worth.

Grady is a unique name but doesn't sound too old fashioned.. I really like the name Grady.

Well I love Oliver, always have!!! We have 3 boys all their names start w/ a T, and our last boy is Thaddeus, Thad for short, and I love his name, so if you like........ Good luck. =)
I LOVE Oliver! I threw that out there for our next child cause im really thinking its a boy wont find out for 2 weeks! But he didnt like it but I think its a great name! It also goes great with Sawyer!! Good luck!!
I love Grady and Oliver. Oliver probably goes with Sawyer best.
Well I am partial to Oliver since one of my sons' name is Oliver :) that said I alos like Grady and Miles but Miles doesnt flow well to me with either your last name or with Sawyer ( which i also really like) so theres my vote :)
I like Miles, followed by Grady, then Oliver. I think Oliver is becoming somewhat of a trendy name (notice that most responses have voted for Oliver?). I also think that all three names sound great with your last name.
The baby name voyager is a very cool tool that will let you see the popularity of names over time. It's a lot of fun to play around with.

If you don't see anything when the page loads, it means you have to install Java on your computer. You can do that from here:

Good luck and congrats on your new baby!
I vote for Grady!!! LOVE it! And I think it goes well with your last name and with Sawyer (which is also a great name!) Good luck with your decision!
I like Oliver, Is a great name~
K. - I have not heard of one child named Oliver, I love it! But...it does make me think....."please sir, can I have some more?"
I know you said you didn't want people to comment negatively, but I will say this. Take the names that you like and revert back to elementary school. Your husband will probably be better at this than you because boys always came up with my nickname. Look at the names you like, and then come up with nicknames. I did that with my boys. I gave my brothers ( I have 4) the names that I liked and told them to come up with names, they did, and they were fast! I cancelled some of the names because I didn't want them to be known forever by an unfortunate nickname.
That being said. I LOVE Oliver, Grady is VERY common ( I hear that name a lot) and I like Miles too (but I think Miles Davis when I hear it! I love jazz).

Hey K.!
My husband and I had the same good matured argument, except we were reversed. I like unique names and my husband likes more traditional names. My husband got very good at rolling his eyes when I was pregnant! We named our little boy Solomon- a compromise between traditional and unique:)
I vote for Grady, although they are all really great names. Another thing you might consider- waiting until he is born and then choosing which name fits him best? Good luck!

I went to highschool with a boy named Grady and I have always thought that was such a good name. Not to common, but fairly tradidtional at the same time.
I like Miles/Myles *different spelling purhapes*.
I also like Oliver tho, maybe they could even go together?
