Help ANTS

We use Banner pest control. We actually are on a quarterly program which covers indoors and outdoors. We don't treat indoors unless necessary (e.g., when the ants come marching in)since treating the outdoors is what prevents that. They use products that are safe for children and pets (we have both and our dog is often in the garden as well as in the home). Speak with them. They are local (based in Sherwood) ###-###-####. I screened quite a few companies before selecting them. BEWARE of ALPHA ECOLOGICAL...ripoff artists. I had a TERRIBLE experience with them. Orkin is fine, but more pricey than Banner.

My son-in- law uses sugar and baking powder apparently the critters eat the stuff go back home and blow up. Won't hurt kids if they eat it or dog either.

We have 2 small kids and a cat. What we do is use bay leaves on the pantry shelfs and by the windows...the small ants do not like it. Also, we picked up some Terro at Home Depot...it is a liquid that you put on a cardboard piece in an area inside or outside the home that is out of the way (I have some next to the back door in the corner by my grandfather clock). The kids know not to touch and the cat stays away from the stuff. It works. You can also just put a few spots outside where you know the ants are concentrated and they will go after that...works fast.

we use cornmeal... it isn't pro but it works and is very safe for animals and kids... the ants take it back to their nest and eat it... then can not digest it and die.
