Help! a Shirt Turned a Large Load of Whites PINK!!!

My daughter made one of those t-shirts (found on Pinterest) that are tie-dye but with permanent markers and rubbing alcohol. I had no intentions of ever washing that with other clothing, but somehow it made it into my whites load and now everything is pink.

Any suggestions on how to fix this problem?

What can I do next?

There is a product called Carbona Color Run Remover. I'm not sure if you can get it in stores anymore but you can order it on soap.com (amazon may have it also). I usually get my orders pretty fast from them. I haven't tried this particular product but I use the other Carbona stain removers and they work great. You might can try a fabric store for some kind of dye remover also.

I know how you feel, my daughter just got permanent marker on one of her good shirts!

Hope this helps! Good luck!

Have you put that pink load in the dryer? If you haven't, you can take a chance on this. It's my last-ditch method, because it might ruin the clothes - which is no big deal if they're ruined anyhow.

I would put the load back in the washer, turn it to HOT water, and add a "certain amount" (I pour it out of the box) of both powdered dishwasher detergent and powdered non-chlorine bleach. I'd let the clothes soak for an hour or longer, and then wash them again as usual in warm water. The pink MIGHT come out.

If you have already run the clothes through the dryer, it might be harder - or a really lost cause. But it can't hurt you to try.

since the load is all white, I'd try using bleach in another wash cycle. If that doesn't work then you could try Mary L.'s last ditch effort.

Don't dry the load yet. Have you tried Oxyclean?

Mary L. - did you really mean dishwasher detergent?
