I doubt that's normal, however September 31st hasn't happened yet, unless you're talking about September 31st of last year, in which case no, that is definitely not normal.
Its still draining, and sometimes its very red, I can push on the top of my ear and blood just runs out of my ear. And when I push on it I can hear it bubbling. Is this normal?
First off, let me begin with saying that I meant August 31st. And anyone with the smallest amount of common sense could have figured that one out. Another thing, is I know its not norma,l but I just had surgery and come to this site in hopes that maybe someone else has had the same procedure and could help me out. I didn't come to the site to have my intelligence insulted or for no catty, snobby remarks.
Moving on, everything is fine, I got some infection meds to take by mouth. And, I'm feeling much better.

yes. bubbling in the head and blood pouring out of ears is all very normal. i'm sure it happens to all of us all the time.

Tori, Welcome to mamapedia.
You mean August 31st - right? Not September 31st? Because 1 - there's only 30 days in September and 2 - that would mean your surgery was almost a year ago.I will assume that since you stated AND some kind of "plasty" you had a radical mastoidectomy.
I would go to the urgent care and have your ear checked out. If you can't do that - go the the ENT who performed the surgery. I'm sure they have a nurse or on-call number.
Red USUALLY means an infection. At 10 days (I truly hope it's 10 days) post surgery - you should be healed, not still bleeding. Have you taken your temperature? If it's over 100 degrees you need to call your doctor - NOW.
Your surgery was almost A YEAR ago and it's still not healed up?
I really doubt this is normal.
Isn't your doctor/surgeon doing any follow ups with you?
I think it might be time to see another doctor.

Ok, it seems some discharge is expected - after surgery - but for it to still be happening almost a year later doesn't sound right.
I think working with a doctor is still the best way to get this healed up right.
If you have the urge to ask random strangers for medical advice like this, you should probably just call your doctor.
Errr, there's only 30 days in September ...
Tori, it's a very interesting question and I don't know if you're sitting there having a laugh at everyone or simply made a mistake and meant September 1st or 3rd or 13th.
But if you are really asking a question then heck no, that's not normal and I'm sure if you call your doc's office on Monday they'll have you go to the ER before you die from some build up of blood on your brain that is causing a lot of damage. So go to the ER or call the doc's after hours number and ask the nurse.
Sounds like something to ask your DOCTOR about.
I'm glad you're feeling better, but really now, did you think you'd get real answers here? None of us are a substitute for your surgeon. When you ask if it's normal to have blood come out of your ear and hear it bubbling, you're just asking for some colorful answers. Next time you go to a public advice site, ask the question in a way that won't invite remarks that answer something that doesn't make sense, like "is it normal" when it can't possibly be normal...
Thanks for the question Tori,

Call your doctor and ask. If it's after office hours call the 24 hour nurse line.
Your original question was "Is this normal?" Now you say "I know its [sic] not normal". So, what is your question?
It is not "common sense" that "September 31st" meant "August 31st" - many procedures take more than ten days to heal, so for many things, being not totally healed after ten days would not be a reason to worry!
Anyway - I think "common sense" for an issue like this, if you want to use the internet, is to at least go to a medical advice site. But, it is definitely best to go to a doctor and ask in person.
