Good Towels?

I am getting my husband a towel warmer for Christmas, in addition to some nice towels to use. He gets so mad every morning when the kids (or me!) have thrown his towel on the ground or used it. He asks for so little, the man just wants his own towel!!

So, how do I know if a towel is a "good towel"? I buy what I think is a good one and a month later it is all scratchy! There are so many different kinds and some labeled certain types of cotton, etc. Egyptian cotton? I need something nice and soft and that will really soak up the warmth from the towel warmer! I am purchasing ONLINE so I cannot stand and feel the towels. BB&B has towels but the ones I am looking at are $20 per towel - is that an average price for a good towel? Thanks ladies!

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Oh wow! Bath SHEETS are even bigger and better than bath towels! I had no idea! I cannot believe all these years of being a wife and mother I haven't discovered bath sheets!

I like the towels I have gotten at JC Penney's. They are big, thick and soft. My hubby can't stand if they are too soft with lint coming off them. I got some at Bed Bath & Beyond and he can't stand them.

Bless his heart! =) I like Target towels. They are really good quality and great designs. I think they're less expensive too if I'm remembering correctly. What a great idea. I might do the same for my husband.

I would go to Bed Bath and Beyond and do some hands on research. I'd also go for all cotton because the blends just don't soak up the water as well. BTW...nice gift idea!

We have the bath sheets from Bed, Bath and Beyond and their towel warmer. I love both. Our towel warmer is actually a little compartment that opens up and you place the rolled towel inside not the heated towel bar. However, towel warmers tend to get very hot on the inside to get and keep the towel warm. My kids also love the towel warmer in the winter months.

Believe it or not - Bamboo towels are GREAT!!!

Sometimes it's not price that makes the towel. it's the fabric that goes into making them...Martha Stewart has some good towels as does Target. Bamboo towels are REALLY great at absorbing moisture and feel good too. They are a tad thicker too.

I've never had a towel warmer. So I can't say which one works best, etc.

Take the time to do the "feel" and read the label! You will be glad you did!!

LOVE Restoration Hardware's towels. They are doing a Friends & Family 20% off (sometime this week). However - they are not truly colorfast - if you use toothpaste with bleach/whiteners in it and have dark towels, they will get bleach spots. Yes, good towels are pricey. But I have had my Restoration Hardware ones for 4-1/2 years and (other than the bleach spots on the first hand towel before I figured that out), they look and feel new.

Sorry I cannot be any help but I cannot wait to see the answers. Now that we are empty nesters except when they creep back home for school breaks I want big fluffy nice towels!!!! No more make-up stains, or bleached towels from my daughter's face wash. Oh and when they do creep back home the nice towels will go into hiding!!!!!!

Hello, I just bought some new towels at Macy's, "Home Collection".
Wait for them to be on sale and use a coupon. It's been about two
month's now and we love them. We were overdue for towels and I
know when you're ready you want the right ones. I didn't think they
were too expensive and with the discounts, so worth it. Check it out!
