A.K.
publix cakes are always good and i think on publix.com you could actually see what cakes they do. I have a membership to sam's club off scenic highway and I got a 1/2 sheet cake Diego theme for $19.99.
My son's birthday is this weekend. We are new here and I want to get a great Star Wars cake. Any suggestions in the Lawrenceville/Lilburn/Snellville area for a good bakery?
PUBLIX it is! Thanks:)

publix bakery makes delicious cakes, they have a lot of choices, and the prices are not outrageous. happy birthday!
Publix bakeries are really good. We got my daughter's wedding cake fromPublix and were very pleased. Happy birthday to your son!

I have to say that I love Publix bakery and cakes. Someone recommended that I try them out a couple of years ago and they were great. In fact, we even had them make our wedding cake, which everyone raved about. Their prices are very reasonable and I've used them several times in the past two years. You can go online and check out their options.
HTH!
I am sure people have responded already but Publix does great cakes. For cheaper, but not as good, Kroger. They both have Star Wars cakes. Best of luck.

I know I am sending this message too late, BUT for future reference, you can get a great tasting cake at Publix. I love there bakery. I got my wedding cake from them at $2.50 a slice and they tasted the best. Going rate at the time was $3 to %5 a slice.
If you find on please let me know Thank you
Publix is the best and the cheapest. I go to the one on Hwy 78 & Killian Hill. You need to call it in beforehand or even better, go there and order it. They have a book you can look through and pick out designs for all the cartoon and movie characters. I ordered a Star Wars cake for my son, he loved it. They have a Darth Vader head that is optional, I personally did not think that that was worth the money. But oddly enough, my son kept the head and still has it so I guess guys like that kind of thing. But they have "Star Wars" designs that are cheaper than the "head" gig, I'd ask to see those first.
There is also a very good bakery that has been around for 20 years called "Rhodes Bakery" on Hwy 124 just south of Hwy 78 in Snellville that makes great cakes, too, but they are much more expensive. They also have a "Star Wars" kit and other charactors for a cake. (Do NOT buy cookies there.) You need to call your order in early there, too. They have great pies if you don't mind paying $12 for one apple pie. They also have a lot of other desserts for the other guests who might not want cake, if there are people like that.
Whatever you do, call it in today to make sure you get it by Saturday.
Publix does wonderful cakes. If it's your child's birthday they'll even give you a small cake just for them in addition to the larger cake for the group (this might just be first birthday - not sure). They have a whole book of designs to choose from. They might just have a Star Wars one.
Hope that's helpful!
