Maybe just teach her to take her panties and her pants all the way off? That way she won't get anything wet??
I was reading some other Q&As concerning little girls standing while peeing, but didn't quite find a scenario like my own. My little girl (2) was sitting to pee, but about a week ago she started over shooting the toilet outwards. She got some urine on her panties and pants and now is scared to sit and tries to stand, making the problem worse. I never scolded her, but am afraid after such great success potty training she is going to regress. Any hints, or suggestions? I have tried to get her to lean forward, but she seems to like to see the urine on exit.
Well, I'm going to try to sit her backwards. I forgot to mention that she does disrobe from the waist down almost every time. She actually got urine on the clothing on the floor :( It really quite something, we have a safety first potty that she uses too, and that doubled as a step stool to the toilet, and she overshoots that too. She's very independent, and often just goes on her own, and I never realize until its moments too late. I was mostly worried that maybe something is wrong with her urethra. it does sound like this is not uncommon, and I'll just take my lumps with a little pee on the floor! Thanks Everyone!!!

This may sound odd, but when my now 6 yr old daughter had the same problem we had her sit facing the back of the toilet. Sitting this way helps keep the urine in the commode and off her clothes, but she can also watch herself pee, which seems to be fascinating to kids. I know it is a pain because she will have to disrobe from the waist down, but it really helped our daughter and now she has no issues in the restroom.
Ditto to Heather's response. Our daughter's daycare provider teaches all the boys to sit backwards, so our daughter started doing it, too.
My 2 year old does that on a regular toilet too. At home we use a small potty with that little 'guard' in the front. It's her size so it's not too intimidating and there are virtually no 'over-shoots'. If your daughter won't lean forward, make sure her butt is as LOW as it can go and scoot her pants and panties right down to her ankles.
My daughter had this problem when we used the little padded seat on top of the toilet seat, but not (usually) when she sits on the regular toilet seat.
