We have hard water and get those red stains. We use Kaboom and it works wonders. My husband has also used peroxide lately which is cheap and does a great job of making things sparkle.
Our shower floor is textured to keep from slipping, but it seems dirt gets "stuck" in there and I can't seem to get it clean. None of the cleaners I've tried have worked, even hand scrubbing with a brush! Does anyone have any suggestions?
Thank you everyone for your helpful suggestions! I ended up using
the magic eraser and following up with baking soda and vinegar. It worked
wonderfully and my shower floor is sparkling clean.

Mr clean and bar keeps friend are good stuff, if they don't work you can try a steam sprayer. also, you can try a baking soda paste(mixed with water), scrub with a brush and rinse out with vinegar or peroxide
Mr. Clean Magic Erasers will do the job. I have the same shower, and that's the only thing that works.
I had the same problem, and the Mr. Clean Magic Eraser worked wonders!
Hi Patty,
The "dirt" on the shower floor is actually oil from our bodies. Therefore, you need to use a potent degreaser to remove it from your shower. Use oven cleaner! It sounds crazy, but I worked for a cleaning company for years and this is what we always used to get that stuff off of shower floors. Most of the time we could remove 100% of it with oven cleaner, even when it had been there for years. Good luck!
I have the same kind of shower floor. I get it wet and then sprinkle the dry kind of Comet on it and let it sit for about a half hour and then scrub it with a scrubbing pad and then rinse it. It's not perfect but it's much better!
Have you tried stopping the drain and soaking with warm water and bleach? Then scrubbing with a brush?
We use Cascade powder dishwasher soap. Sprinkle it on, get it damp, then let it sit for a while and scrub off with a brush.
A Mr. Clean Magic Eraser works wonders!
Have you tried the Mr. Clean Magic Eraser? It works great on our textured tub and believe me, I tried everything else! It's also excellent for getting crayons off walls or any other hard to clean area. Good luck!
Hi P.... Mr. Clean's magic erasers can clean just about anything. I love them! Good luck!
Mr clean magic erasers work on out textured tub floor. ( also the cheaper versions work too) It will terar up the eraser so you won't beable to use it again, but it DOES work!!!
You should try Mr. Clean Magic Erasers.
Have you tried Barkeeper's Friend? That gets anything, even the rust from our water, out. It's available at Walmart and Target.
Could you let some bleach sit in there for a while? Then scrub with a scrub brush.
I 100% second the magic eraser! I just took it to my tub and had no idea that what I thought was clean wasn't! You'll be amazed.
Melaleuca tub and tile is the only answer I have, good luck. It's also safe to use around little ones.
Sincerely,

bar keepers friend... i think we found it at walmart, its in a gold can.
or even try baking soda sprinkled on it and vinegar?
I have a similar issue. I have porcelain tile in my kitchen with texture in it and it always looks dirty. I am new to this site, so I'm not sure how to be able to see what your responses will be on this.
My bathtub is very old and "pocked" from hard water and it is very difficult to clean that also. I hope you receive answers that work for you.

I have the same problem and sometimes when company is coming I have resorted to scraping the dirt! Can't wait to see what the other responses are.
I would try Thieves Household Cleaner from Young Living.
I haven't tried it on our tub yet but I had makeup (powder cover-up) on my sink and I've tried lots of different cleaners and hard scrubbing and it would NOT come off. Well, I got this cleaner and filled the sink with hot water and a dump of Thieves Household Cleaner and let it soak for 10 minutes. It still took a little scrubbing (not much) but it ALL CAME OFF!!!
I use a Magic Erasor or the generic brand of the same and it works like a charm. Also the best thing to get rid of soap scum. Make sure you wear gloves, though, because it is pretty rough on your skin. Good luck!
P., I've had great luck with the Mr. Clean Magic Erasers. The eraser needs to be wet, but the tub should only be a little wet. Too much water and it won't work. They also work on those textured white fridge door handles.
Good luck!
We hhave a textured shower also I spray on The WORKS and let it sit for about 20 min then take a brush and it just scrubs out. BAM also works very good. You can spray it down with clorox cleaner after to get it to shine nice. Did you know that to keep from getting water drops on your shower walls, use car wax, put it on , let it dry and then wipe off works like l magic. Just don't put it on the floor as it is very slippery. Good luck!
I use barkeepers friend (gold can) followed up with the magic eraser. I am very intrigued about the oven cleaner and car wax suggestions!
