Congratulations!

The OTC (and prescription) meds for yeast infections now come in a one-day-treatment vaginal suppository. They generally also come with an anti-itch cream. You can get them at any drug store.

Have a wonderful wedding!

Hi S.,
I haven't heard of any quick fixes or home remedies BUT there is an option that might help. Instead of dealing with the cream and all the mess, most OB/GYN's will prescribe a pill over the phone that will take care of it. Diflucan or Gynazole are two of the pills. Hope this helps.

Eat lots of yogurt. Or go to a health food store (GNC even) and get some acidopholous pills. Double up on them. All of this will put the "good bacteria" back in your system and help clear up the yeast infection.

There is even a ONE DOSE pill that your gyn can prescribe for you but I don't know how quickly it works. Would your doctor call it in for you this one time without you having to visit them?

CONGRATULATIONS and Good luck!!!

Hey there, If your sure its a yeast infection you can go down to the store and buy one of those packaged treatments without having to consult a physician. They work great. Also if your looking for a natural cure try eating some yogurt the natural bacteria in yogurt can help get rid of them and prevent them in the first place. Have fun on your big day!

Try the over the counter creams, but to build up your resistance go to the pharmacist and ask for acedopilius, I think that is how you spell it. You can get it in granual formula or pill formula. It is a natural bacteria that you already have in your system that fights yeast infections. It is also in yogurt but you would have to eat 4-5 yogerts per day to get as much as you can in the pill formula. It also helps with diarreha. I used to get yeast infections left and right years ago. I haven't had one is at least 15 years because of those pills. The only reason it is by the pharmacist is because it has to be kept refridgerated. good luck.

congratulations!!!!
the stress of the impending day gave you a little extra surprise huh?no biggie, there is help....
first, use cleanser specifically for women. NO BODY WASH. it only irritates. pat dry well
If you don't want to take drugs, plain unsweetened YOGURT DOES WORK if you start today.to apply, take a tampon with a cardboard applicator that you can pull the string backwards but don't pull it all the way out. in the space spoon yogurt on top of the tampon. you feel feel relief immediately, keep the yogurt in the fridge of course.
insert as usual, do this at night before bed and wear a pad backup. it is a little messy; but not much and very effective. thursday, do a white vinegar/water douche.

the enzymes in the yogurt eat the bad bacteria and the vinegar resotres the pH so the enviroment is bad for any new bacteria, but good for you.

effective all natural, no side effects, costs you less than 3 bucks. hope this helps.

same thing happened to me on my husband's last deployment. he came home for leave and 4 days before his arrival, i get the familiar tickle-itch...my MOTHER IN LAW(bless her)told me of her tried and true fix. i hope whatever you try works.
also, without getting too graphic if you can, during the day after you wash,if you can go without undies that's good; air is your friend. but if not just wear a pad to keep the area dry.

good luck!!!

Congratulations...No home remedies that I am aware of, but I would just use the 3 day treatment starting tonight. I just seen a commercial about a new 1 day treatment to use during the day. I would try that and you should be fine by Friday. Eating yogurt will help the infection go away too.

I have luck with over-the-counter stuff. I prefer the cream instead of the pill form inserts. You use it for 3 nights and it's gone!!

Good luck on your wedding!

STAY OUT OF THE BATHTUB AND DO NOT DOUCHE!!!!!!
This kills the natural bacteria inside your vagina that controls yeast. It washes it away. I would call a doctor and have them call you meds in. Drinking buttermilk and eating yogurt with live active cultures will also help restore the bacteria that your body needs.

Congrats on your upcoming marriage!
I don't have any quick remedies, but I do want to tell you something I found out that could help you in the future. When I first got married, I kept getting what I thought were recurring yeast infections. I started noticing that it happened every time we used a condom. Later, I had to get braces to correct a potential problem with my bite, and I found out that I'm allergic to latex. Every time the orthodontist adjusted my braces while wearing his latex gloves, I would wake up the next day with a rash around my lips. Weird, huh? I started thinking about it & it all started making sense. We stopped using condoms, and I never had another "infection" again. That was about 9 years ago.
If it really is a yeast infection, another thing to try is a vitamin pill called "Yeast Fighters" that you can get in the health food store. Any time you start feeling something starting, take a couple of these & they should stop it from getting any worse.
Good luck & have a wonderful honeymoon!

In addition to all of the wonderful suggestions given, my doctor told me to blow dry the affected area every time you bathe. Yeast needs moisture to proliferate. Just use a low setting so you don't scorch anything!

First off Congratulations on your wedding to be!!

Believe it or not...there is a home remedy!! This may sound wild but it will work!! You should first sit in a bathtub of water that is diluted with vinegar..the more you can stand the better. I believe the first time I ever tried it I probably used half a gallon, then you should use a douche that has vinegar in it. Vinegar kills yeast. I did follow up the next few days with the monistat cream on the outside but that was it. Good luck and I hope that all goes well for you!! Let me know if you try it and how it works for you!!

See your doctor and ask about fluconazole. It's a one time pill and it works quick. Also, eat yogurt everyday.

Eat lots of Yogurt, make sure it says on the container that it has "live or active cultures" The live active cultures will help you get better....my mom told me if it is sever, you can actually insert yogurt vaginally, but I have never tried it.

Diflucan is one pill you take one time and it clears it up fast. Use the monistat 3-day cream starting today, too, to control the itching. Any cream you use will deteriorate a condom, so be forewarned unless you want a baby now! Use those two STARTING TODAY and you should be OK by Friday. Make sure it is cleared up before unprotected sex or he can get it and you guys will pass it back and forth indefinitely!

Steph,
I'm a nurse here locally. You ought to get treatment and alot of the over the counter stuff is good i've been told. Start soon as you can spread the yeast infection. Something i encourage in my daughters is to eat lots of yogurt, it's cultured and made by yeast and research states that you will be less likely to get a yeast infection in the future by cosuming more types of yogurt and milk products cultured by yeast

I use the over the counter stuff that works in 3 days. Works great and you don't have to spend the extra time and money going to the doctor. Actually I had one last time I went to the doctor and he told me to use the Monistat.
